Chapter 4 Do Not Go
"I've made an appointment to try on a wedding dress tomorrow. Also, your suit has arrived," I uttered, my voice somewhat hoarse from my suppressed emotions.
In truth, the wedding dress hadn't arrived yet. I deliberately said that and stared intently into his eyes, wondering if I would be able to spot any hesitation in them.
However, there was none. Zachary's expression didn't falter in the slightest as he nodded easily. "Got it."
After that, he grabbed his jacket and got ready to leave. "The client is waiting for me, so I have to go now."
I wasn't doing a very good job at hiding my emotions, but Zachary was in too much of a hurry to leave to realize anything was amiss.
Once he had left the house, I stepped out too.
Zachary didn't head for the parking lot. Confused, I continued following him from a distance.
