Aria’s POV
Raven walked beside me in silence, while Viktor walked ahead of us, lost in thought. His shoulders were tense as he walked, and his fists were clenched. I couldn’t even begin to imagine how he was feeling at the moment.
His guards who had come with him were disposing of Kale’s body. According to Raven, if Kale’s body wasn’t properly disposed of, there was a possibility he might come back to life. Killing vampires wasn’t easy, but it was even harder to keep them dead.
As we descended the stairs leading to Lilith’s tomb, I swallowed hard as the memories of my last time here came flooding in.
How I stumbled upon Viktor mourning for Lilith. That dark look in his eyes that had now faded. How he had stalked after me, and had bitten me.

“What is going on with you?” Raven’s sharp voice pulled me out of my daze. I hadn’t even realized that I had stopped walking.
Viktor turned back to look at us, his eyes flicking between Raven and me.
“I’m fine,” I lied
