Aria's POV
Raven snorted in disbelief from behind me.
Viktor stared at me like I was going crazy. “Aria…”
“I’m not crazy,” I said quickly. “Just listen to me. I saw something. It was like a flash. But she’s alive, and not just as a ghost.”
“That’s impossible,” Viktor snapped. “There’s no heartbeat, no blood flow. I would know. I’m not some fledgling vampire, Aria. I’ve existed for centuries.”
I ran a hand through my hair as I began pacing. That buzzing hadn’t stopped yet. They both watched me with incredulous looks on their faces.
“I know what I’m saying. There’s…there’s just something. I can feel it.” I mumbled almost to myself.
Jade’s voice hissed in my mind. ‘Don’t do it, Aria. You’re playing with something ancient and dangerous. She’s been dead for years.’
“She’s not dead,” I said aloud, to both them and Jade. “She’s in a trapped state. But I can bring her back. The stake is preserving her, tying her spirit down. If I can heal her body and reconnect her spirit, I know that I can—”
