Chapter 7

Downstairs. As soon as Trevon and Emilia got out of the car, Aunt Zara came running towards them. "Sir, Madam! That young lady, Brisa is really outrageous. She actually stole Miss's necklace and secretly hid her limited edition lipstick and perfume in her bag. If I hadn't found out, she would probably have stolen more!" Upon hearing this, Trevon and Emilia were shocked. "How could this be? Are you sure you're not mistaken?" "It can't be wrong!" Aunt Zara exclaimed indignantly. "I caught her red-handed, and the stolen items are in her room. She's still crying her eyes out in guilt!" Upon hearing this, Trevon and Emilia looked at each other with unsightly expressions.  After all, Brisa was raised by someone else, and her family was poor.  Seeing such wealth and luxury, she might actually resort to stealing. As Brisa ran out in a panic,  Trevon and Emilia Thomas faces turned grim, clearly believing Aunt Zara's words. Brisa rushed forward in a frenzy, crying, "It's not true! Uncle, Aunt Thomas, I didn't steal anything! Those items are all mine!" "Sir, Madam, I have been with the Brown family for over ten years. You know my temper. I never wrongly accuse innocent people!" Aunt Zara sneered at Brisa, "She's dressed very plainly from head to toe, and even the clothes in her suitcase are all old and washed to a whitish color. Yet, those perfumes and lipsticks cost thousands of dollars combined. How could a poor student like her afford such expensive cosmetics?" Upon hearing this, Trevon and Emilia became even more convinced. They looked at Brisa in disappointment, unable to believe that she would do such a thing. Brisa lowered her head, crying and gasping for breath, as if she had suffered a great injustice. "Uncle, Aunt... The lipstick and perfume were not purchased by me, they were..." "Huh! Now that you can't defend yourself, are you going to start making up stories?" Aunt Zara sneered. Brisa cursed her countless times, but still managed to appear pitiful and helpless on the outside. "They were gifts from a boy who admires me. He's been pursuing me lately and often gives me valuable gifts. If I don't accept them, he won't let me go..." Speaking of this, she looked at Trevon with grievance. "I dare not date him, nor do I dare to offend him, because he's the son of a rich family. So, I put all these gifts together, without using any of them, thinking that I would return them all when the time was right." Upon hearing this, Trevon and Emilia breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, their child was not a thief and had no issues with her character. "Child, you have suffered an injustice." Emilia stepped forward and gently wiped away the tears from the corner of Brisa's eyes, saying, "It's okay. If boys are pursuing you, it means you have charm and are beautiful. When I was your age, I had a line of boys pursuing me!" Brisa wiped away her tears and said coquettishly, "Aunt Thomas, you are already so beautiful now. When you were young, you must have been a great beauty." This remark made Emilia feel elated. She tightly held Brisa's hand and carefully gazing at her innocent and pretty face, becoming even more satisfied as she looked at her. Brisa looked just like her and had completely inherited her beauty. If she took Brisa out in the future, it would only enhance her reputation. "Madam, you cannot simply trust her words," Aunt Zara said anxiously. Emilia glanced at her and said, "You accused her of stealing from Deborah. But you need evidence to support that claim." She then looked up at Deborah, who had just walked out of the room, and asked, "Deborah, did anything go missing from your room?" Deborah coldly smirked as she caught the flash of triumph in Brisa's eyes. While others were unaware, she knew very well how Brisa had obtained those lipsticks and perfumes. They were not gifts from admirers, but rather, Brisa had borrowed money to purchase them to satisfy her own vanity. Brisa was extremely vain and unwilling to be looked down upon by others, so she had taken out high-interest loans to buy luxury goods.  In addition to high-end cosmetics, she also had many luxury clothes and bags. However, she had intentionally left them at home this time when she came to the Brown family's residence, just so that Trevon and his wife would feel sorry for her. In the previous life, not long after Brisa returned to the Brown family's residence, she was chased by loan sharks. In order to cover up the truth, the malicious Brisa had actually lured her to the Fallen Cherry Hotel, which was under Trevon's name, and had her assaulted by those people! Afterwards, she had wanted to report the incident to the police, but Trevon felt that it would be shameful for this to become public knowledge and forbade her from reporting it. He even forcibly confined her and prevented her from going back to her biological parents. If the previous life's events were to unfold as before, this incident would happen on the second day after the paternity test was revealed. However, there were still five days left, so there was no need to rush. "Deborah! I am asking you a question!" Trevon snapped impatiently. "Why aren't you answering?" Deborah lowered her eyes and pretended to be afraid, saying, "Nothing of mine is missing." Trevon was very satisfied with her response. After all, in his heart, he had long regarded Brisa as his biological daughter. She was the daughter of Trevon Key, and naturally could not be the kind of person who steals and cheats. Emilia also breathed a sigh of relief, holding Brisa's hand, comforting her, and entering the house. On the other hand, Trevon scolded Aunt Zara severely, telling her that she should not wrongly accuse people and even fined her a month's bonus. This made Aunt Zara even more resentful towards Brisa. After Trevon left, Deborah slowly added fuel to the fire, "Aunt Zara, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to not speak up for you, as you can see, my parents really like Brisa. If I didn't go along with their wishes, they might even scold me too." Aunt Zara indignantly said, "Miss, don't worry, I stand firmly on your side. No matter how partial sir and madam are, I will speak up for you!" Deborah smiled and nodded, but sneered in her heart. Help her? Perhaps when she finds out the true identity of Brisa, she will immediately cry and beg to serve her? Ha! But in this life, she was prepared. No matter what Brisa wanted to do, in the end, it would only backfire! For two consecutive days, Brisa stayed in the Brown family's house, accompanying Emilia to go shopping for luxury clothing and bags during the day. At night, she put on beautiful clothes, stood in front of the mirror, and took photos and shared them on social media. Of course, she only made these posts visible to her selected friends groups. Deborah and her rural parents were the first ones she blocked. Brisa enjoyed her current life very much, especially after seeing the envy and admiration from her classmates and friends, she felt like she had become a little princess adored by everyone. Of course, when she saw Deborah in the Brown family's home, she would avoid her. If they occasionally bumped into each other, she would smile and say hello, as if that day's incident had never happened. Deborah was not in a hurry, allowing Brisa to be boastful and carried away with her pride. She was waiting for the day when the paternity test results came out. Time passed quickly, and before she knew it, it was the day when the results were released.
