Chapter 8

That morning, Deborah got up early on purpose, packed her luggage, put on her favorite clothes, and sat on the bed waiting. She lifted her gaze and looked at the clock on the wall. When the clock pointed to ten, she knew the time had come. Sure enough, the next second, there was a loud knock on the door, "Deborah! Come out here!" Trevon's angry voice came from outside the door. Deborah lazily got up and opened the door unhurriedly. Just like in her past life, as soon as she opened the door, a paternity test was thrown directly at her face. But this time, she agiley avoided it. "What's wrong?" She smiled slyly at Trevon, who had a livid face. "Why are you so angry early in the morning?" Since Trevon was not her father, she didn't have to be polite with him! "You!!!" Trevon stared at her angrily, "Deborah Bro... no! Deborah Benson! You're not my daughter at all. Brisa is my real daughter!" Deborah raised her gaze and scanned the faces of everyone at the door one by one. Furious Trevon, Emilia with a complex expression, smug Brisa, and Aunt Zara, who was always on the fence, were all standing at the door. Everything in front of her was so similar to her past life. Only back then, she didn't know what she was going to face next. She would never forget how desperate and helpless she felt in her previous life. She didn't want to believe any of this and even thought that Trevon was deliberately trying to scare her. She cried and looked at the paternity test several times, even losing her composure and saying that it was fake. Trevon was so angry that he slapped her on the spot and said that they had confirmed it repeatedly and that it was definitely not fake. Finally, he pointed at her and said with a disgusted expression, "Get out of the Brown family now!" At that time, she was heartbroken and desperate. In just one night, she went from being the beloved daughter of the Brown family to a rejected orphan. In the end, she ran out crying. But now... Deborah nonchalantly picked up the paternity test from the ground and glanced at it casually. "Oh, so she's your daughter. Alright, give me your parents' phone number and I'll contact them," she said.  The four people outside the door were stunned. What was going on? Had Deborah gone too far with her indifference? Shouldn't she have first been in disbelief, then crying and questioning everyone, asking if it was fake? Why was it different from what they had imagined? Trevon came back to his senses, and a sense of inexplicable anger surged in his chest. After all, he had raised Deborah for eighteen years. How could she calmly accept her new identity, and even call the parents she had never met "mom and dad"? "What do you mean?" "You haven't even left the house yet and you're eager to call someone else mom and dad? I raised you for eighteen years, and you don't even have a shred of gratitude? You ungrateful wretch!" After speaking, he raised his hand to slap Deborah in the face. Deborah dodged nimbly and sneered. "Mr. Trevon, you came to me in a rage saying I'm not your daughter. I didn't argue and chose to leave. Why aren't you happy about that? Do you want me to stay in this house and not leave?" The words "Mr. Trevon" made Trevon's face instantly darken. He wanted to shout and curse, but he couldn't find the words to refute Deborah. Deborah looked at Brisa and asked, "Do you want me to stay and be good sisters with you?" Brown bit her lip, unwilling in every way. She took out her phone, ready to give Deborah the phone number of her parents from the countryside. At this moment, a phone number suddenly called in. Brisa looked at the number and her face immediately changed. She hurriedly declined the call and ran out of the room. Everyone was stunned and confused as they watched her leave, not knowing what had happened. Deborah, on the other hand, sneered. She knew exactly why Brisa had panicked and fled - the call was from a group of debt collectors. Remembering what had happened in her past life, Deborah's pupils shrank with fear. But she couldn't leave just yet. What was about to happen was too interesting to miss, and she didn't want to miss it. ... Holding the phone in her hand, Brisa panickedly rushed into the room and locked the door behind her. She looked at the phone with terror as the calls kept coming in non-stop. What should she do? The debt collectors were following her like a shadow, constantly pressuring her to pay up and threatening to reveal all of her personal information if she didn't do so quickly. She had just reconciled with the Brown family! She couldn't let this get exposed. "Brisa, are you okay?" Emilia knocked on the door with concern. "Who is calling you?" Shaken, Brisa immediately turned off her phone and said in a trembling voice, "It's a harassing call. Mom, I don't feel well and want to rest for a while. Can I give my phone number to Deborah later?" "Do you need to see a doctor?" Emilia asked worriedly. "No need." Brisa grabbed grabbed her clothes nervously, her body covered in cold sweat. After Emilia left, she finally breathed a sigh of relief, her body limp, and she sat on the ground. She quickly turned on her phone, and the phone rang incessantly. Brisa gritted her teeth and ran into the bathroom to answer the phone. "Brisa! Are you trying to play dead with me? How dare you not answer my phone call? Are you looking for death?" The man's rough voice made Brisa Brown tremble all over. She took a deep breath and summoned the courage to ask, "What do you want from me?" She had already made up her mind. Starting today, she would say goodbye to the identity of Brisa Benson by cancelling her old identity card and phone number.  From now on, she would start anew as Brisa Brown. "How about this? Let me tell you! If you don't repay the money today, I will bring people to your house and wait for you tomorrow!" "You don't want others to know your little secret, do you?" Upon hearing this, Brisa widened her eyes in shock and exclaimed, "How... how did you know?" How could this be? She had never told anyone her current address. How did these debt collectors find out? The man responded fiercely, "What does it matter to you how we found out? Anyway, if you can't pay back the money, you'll have to use your body to compensate! With your looks and figure, you could sell yourself and probably clear the debt in less than a year!" Upon hearing this, Brisa immediately collapsed onto the ground, her legs going weak. No! She had just become the new heiress of the Brown family. Her beautiful life had just begun, and it could not end so easily. Would she have taken this step if it weren't for her lack of money? It was all Deborah Benson's fault! She had led her to this situation! So, she had to repay this debt herself! Thinking of this, Brisa narrowed her eyes slyly. "Okay! I can repay the debt and even give you a virgin as interest. But you must promise me that after this, you will never bother me again and pretend that you never knew me!"
