Kael stood still, his resolve hardening.
The kiss felt like no other. It was soft and warm, new to the hungry ones he’s engaged in.
Maybe because he was the one always initiating the kiss with the others, or perhaps because he had just imprinted on Lilith, that’s why it felt different.
She broke the kiss, her eyes of many colors staring into his; he looked into the depths of it and stole a glance at her full plum lips.
“I’ve been waiting for you,” she whispered to him lowly. Pressing herself to him.
Kael registered her words, and it immediately snapped him from his love-induced daze.
He felt a sudden surge of emotions, a mix of hatred and something far more that he wouldn’t like to admit.
It was dangerous, and it was swelling within him.
But he hated her or used to hate her, either way.
Her voice and the way she seemed to toy with him, playing dumb when she clearly knew what was at stake, were arrogant.
At the same time, he couldn’t deny the magnetic force that seemed to draw
