CHAPTER 201 FATE AT PLAY
The sun was setting in Magnus’s territory.
Claire lay on the cold floor of the dungeon; her body was aching from the injuries she had sustained from the sentinel’s beating.
Now, the cell was almost dark, with a dimly lit bulb illuminating the place.
Anya and Declan were beside her, their eyes fixed on the patrolling sentinels.
They had devised a strategy, though it was a fifty-fifty chance. Claire lay there, glaring at the ceiling. Her mind raced with the reality of their situation.
She couldn’t help but wonder if Hudson knew where she was and if he was trying to save her. Well, it didn’t look like that because she’d been stuck in this dungeon for what felt like years.
If she was being honest, she had lost count of the days spent at Magnus’s camp, so it might truly be a year.
She had managed to keep her spirit strong, though her body was beginning to weaken and fail her.
The wound throbbed, and it was only a matter of time before infection set in if she did not get it treated.
