The meeting was set to report the latest on what he’d ordered them to do, and he listened to General Arlo's report with impatience and frustration swirling within him.
"The council that oversees the Autumn Moon Ball is refusing to change the location, Alpha,” Arlo said, his voice strained.
“Why?” He inquired.
"They don’t believe Magnus secured the location, and they’re confident that their secrecy holds."
Hudson gritted his teeth against each other, his fingers tapping against the polished wood of the table.
"They don’t believe it? How could they not see the risk that Magnus’s presence holds?"
"They believe their safeguards are sufficient," Arlo continued. "The council insists the event is neutral ground, and they don’t want to break tradition by relocating at the last minute."
