　　Tabitha's POV 　　Gloria sniffed and looked at me blankly. 　　"Good news is," I whispered, gently placing my hand on my belly. As I looked down, a feeling of tenderness surged within me. 　　"I'm pregnant," I went on. 　　The moment I finished speaking, Gloria was so stunned that she almost choked. "What?" 　　She just sat there in silence, her mouth gaping open. After quite a while, she finally got her voice back. "And what's the bad news?" 　　"Derek is the father," I confessed. 　　Gloria widened her eyes in disbelief. Obviously, she needed time to process this wild truth. 　　After taking a minute to calm herself, she asked, "So, he chooses to marry Daphne while you're pregnant? Is he insane? Why does he have to marry her?" 　　I shook my head. "He doesn't know I'm pregnant. To be specific, he didn't even remember we had sex," I calmly added. 　　"What? Then how did you get pregnant? IVF?" Gloria blinked, looking puzzled. "He may have good looks, but he's not the only handsome guy in the world. I mean there's a world out there. Couldn't you find a better werewolf?" 　　I chuckled, realizing she misunderstood. 　　"What are you talking about? When we had sex, he had a fever, so he was unconscious," I corrected. 　　"This shitty man got you pregnant in a coma? It's ridiculous. So, what are you planning to do? Don't tell me you wanna keep it," Gloria exclaimed. 　　"Yeah, I wanna keep it," I said firmly. 　　Gloria immediately shook her head in disapproval. "Tabitha, are you nuts? You can't do that. You're still poisoned with wolfsbane, remember? In this case, pregnancy will be a huge burden on your body. You're already in poor health, and the placenta will suck out all your nutrients. There's a high chance wolfsbane will take your life before the baby's born." 　　"I know what you're saying," I replied, feeling a bit helpless. 　　"So you gotta get an abortion! I get that you're still hurting from losing the last pup, but this isn't the time to let emotions run wild. Your condition has only stabilized lately, and maybe you'll be able to expel the wolfsbane in your body. Can you wait and have a baby again later?" Gloria's tone was laced with concern. 　　I shook my head. "You've never been a mother. You don't know the feeling of having a little life growing inside you. I failed to protect this pup's brother, so I won't repeat the same mistake." 　　As if realizing she couldn't sway me, Gloria sighed, "Since you have already made up your mind, I guess I can't talk you out of it." 　　"I don't have other options. You know what? I used to believe I might never get pregnant again. So how can I give up when I'm actually expecting one? I think it's a gift from the Moon Goddess," I told her, with a glimmer of hope in my heart. 　　Gloria couldn't help but ask, "What if your condition worsens? What will you do then?" 　　"I've decided to wing it then. Honestly, I don't know what the future holds, but at least right now, I wanna be a mother," I replied, my voice filled with determination. 　　Gloria sighed, "Life really is unpredictable." 　　She knew that I wouldn't change my mind no matter what. 　　"Visiting you is not the only reason that I'm here. I'd also like a favor from you," I said, hoping she would understand and support my decision. 　　"Go ahead, I will help you if I can," she immediately replied. 　　"I wanna have a check-up to see if the baby is healthy, but I don't want Derek to find out," I whispered, fixing her with pleading eyes. 　　"Well, alright." Gloria touched my belly and continued, "Since I'll be this pup's godmother, I've gotta protect it. I'll ask Alpha Obadiah for help. But I'll tell him that I'm pregnant." 　　I smiled softly, "Thanks a million." 　　"My pleasure. It's what I should do as its godmother," Gloria responded with a determined tone. 　　Looking at her, I knew I was no longer alone in this anymore.
