Chapter 33
It was late, and Elaria was still wide awake.
She kept replaying Sebastian' words in her mind.
He said she was the only woman he'd ever been with. Said he was done with anyone else. Said he'd try to be the kind of husband she deserved. Said, "Trust me."
The harsh white light lit up her calm features. Elaria stared ahead, her heart quiet yet full of questions. "Sebastian, can I really believe you one more time?"
Outside, storm clouds gathered. Thunder rumbled faintly in the distance.
In the next two days, Sebastian didn't call. Elaria, holding onto her pride, didn't reach out either.
On the third morning, she got up early.
Downstairs at breakfast, one of the housekeepers seemed surprised. "Madam, are you going to the hospital?"
Elaria smiled softly and took a sip of her milk. "No, my husband's coming back from his business trip. I'm picking him up at the airport."
The housekeeper beamed. "You two are such a loving couple."
Elaria didn't say more. After breakfast, she drove out herself.
