Chapter 15 They'd Made Love in the Car
Realization dawned on William. He took out his phone and saw a message from Jeanette that had already been read. He immediately pieced it together.
When Jeanette texted him, he'd been in a meeting with his phone left on his desk. Giselle must have seen the message and sent someone to pick Jeanette up.
It was just a message, nothing worth fussing over. William didn't intend to explain. He took the seat beside Cordelia instead and asked about her condition.
Cordelia had calmed down. It was a family dinner, not a showdown. Wanting to ease the mood, she shifted the conversation to small talk, pulling Jeanette and William into relaxed chatter.
Before long, the dishes arrived, and the dinner began.
Cordelia always favored Jeanette. She asked the kitchen to make all her favorite dishes.
