Chapter 16 Losing Her Place in His Life
William's brows drew together as he shot Jeanette a look. "Don't be ridiculous."
"Ridiculous?" Jeanette gave a sharp, incredulous laugh.
William had been fooling around in the car with Giselle and even left her lingerie behind. How was Jeanette supposed to stay calm? She was a living, breathing woman, not some machine without emotions.
The lingerie didn't even have a tag, which meant it wasn't new. And Giselle was pregnant. They really couldn't wait any longer, could they?
Jeanette drew a long breath and met his eyes, her voice cold. "You make me sick. Just sitting in the same car with you makes my stomach turn!"
William raised an eyebrow, his gaze flicking toward her.
In their three years of marriage, Jeanette had always been gentle with him. She had never raised her voice like this before.
He frowned and wanted to say something, but she cut him off. "William, I said pull over!"
William had no choice but to pull over at the curb.
Jeanette got out of the car, slammed the door
