Chapter 17 He Thought She Didn't Care Anymore
Jeanette froze with her hand on the door handle, feeling utterly ridiculous.
She had found the lingerie in the car only yesterday, and today, William brought Giselle over. Did he even see her as his wife anymore?
Giselle smiled and said softly, "Ms. Young, I have to fly abroad for something urgent. It just so happens to be the same country Will's going to. He was worried about me traveling alone, so he brought me along. You don't mind, do you?"
"Would it matter if I did?" Jeanette said coldly.
Giselle's smile froze. Before she could say anything else, Jeanette opened the rear door and got in without another word.
William glanced at Jeanette in surprise. She seemed almost too calm, pulling out her laptop and getting to work without saying a word.
Shouldn't she be throwing a fit? Why was she so calm, as if Giselle's presence didn't bother her at all?
The unease pressed on William, but he said nothing and kept driving.
