Curtis leaned back in his seat, fingers curled around the envelope tucked inside his suit pants. He couldn't bring himself to take it out. It wasn't until a chorus of car horns blared behind him that he finally hit the gas. When he pulled into Cloudcrest Bay, he didn't get out. He just sat there, motionless.
