Miranda stood up. "If we're not having an equal conversation, then I'm not staying."
Liliana's glare was sharp as a knife. "Miranda, do you really have to destroy your own marriage? You've thrown a tantrum as you pleased! Is it still not enough? Not everyone is going to tolerate your attitude!"
Miranda responded calmly, "Liliana, no one jokes about divorce. The paperwork has already been filed. We're just waiting out the cooling-off period."
Liliana went pale, and her eyes were wide in disbelief. "Are you serious?"
Crystal immediately jumped to her feet. "Miranda, don't act on impulse! Think of Jake. Do you want him to grow up in a broken home without both parents?"
Liliana pushed herself up from the table, and all the confidence she had earlier had dissipated. "Are you that cruel to go through with this?"
Miranda replied, "Don't try to guilt me with the child."
