Kaelon’s POV
The office was dead silent, save for the soft hum of my computer and the occasional click of keys from Evelyn, my ever-efficient personal assistant.
I’d been here for hours—too many hours—but that was nothing new. In the business world, time didn’t care about boundaries, and neither did I.
It was all about getting the job done, and right now, there were a lot of things that demanded my attention.
“I’m heading out now Sir,” Evelyn called, her voice cutting through the quiet. She always had that energetic, upbeat tone, even at this late hour.
I glanced at the clock on my desk and it was already forty-five minutes past nine PM.
It was late enough that I figured I could give her a pass for leaving. Most people would have gone home an hour ago, but I wasn’t most people. Evelyn knew that.
