That familiar voice had Olivia looking at the door since she recognized it immediately. She saw a familiar figure at the door. Xavier followed her gaze and narrowed his eyes. “Pheebs, please don’t tell me that this will be another opponent in love.” Olivia rolled her eyes. “What are you thinking about?” “You guys are the only ones that live here at the penthouse. Unless they’re here for the doctors and nurses, these people must be here for you, right?” Olivia was stunned for a while. She did not expect Xavier to be so observant. However, she did not think much of it and got down from the bed towards the door and called out to the slightly frantic man outside of the door. “Wade?” After hearing Olivia’s voice, Wade turned around to look at her with some awkwardness on his face. It seemed like he had misunderstood Olivia and Xavier. “You’re here for me?” Wade nodded. “Yeah, but…” “Come in.” Wade glanced at Xavier and walked in. “What are you here looking for me?” Wade look at Xavier once more, but even though he did not speak, each and every look from him was almost like he was trying to chase Xavier away. With that, Xavier glanced at Wade faintly and turned to Olivia smilingly. “Pheebs, I’ll make a move today. Let me know when you can be discharged. I’ll come to get you.” “Oh, okay.” Would there even be a chance for Xavier to pick Olivia out when she got discharged? However, Wade was still around, so Olivia did not want to explain too much. After Xavier left, Wade carefully walked towards the bed and asked, “Ms. James, you and that gentleman…” Initially, both herself and Xavier were blank slates with nothing in between them, but after Wade asked, Olivia felt like it was as if she had been caught cheating. She did not know why. Olivia helplessly pursed her lips. “We’re just friends. Nothing special.” Wade seemed to be very pleased with that answer and his expression softened. “That’s good.” “Your reaction is so odd, Wade. Would Mr. M care about who I date?” “Of course he doesn’t.” Wade wiped off his expression and pretended to be calm. “Sir would of course not care about all that, it’s just that I’m curious since there are so many rumors out there about Ms. James.” Then, Wade added with a frown, “Also, I think that sir just now was a little… familiar? Have I met him before?” “Maybe you have in Murica.” “Is that so?” Wade thought about it, scratched his head, and thought about nothing. “What are you here for?” After Olivia’s reminder, Wade finally snapped back to his senses and placed the gifts aside. “Sir is in an overseas meeting today and just got to know that you were admitted, so he sent me to get you some supplements.” Olivia looked and found that it was merely nutritional supplements of many sorts and did not reject Wade. “Help me thank Mr. M.” “I will.” Then, Wade took out a cheque and passed it to Olivia. “Ms. James, I hope you’ll take this.” Olivia looked down at the amount on the cheque and frowned. “Why give me a hundred thousand dollars out of the blue?” “Sir said he couldn’t come and visit you personally, but he didn’t want to buy any gift that Ms. James would not like, so he had me give you a cheque of a hundred thousand dollars, just as some pocket money from him, in the hope that you’d accept it.” A hundred thousand dollars’ worth of pocket money… Even when Dad was around, he would never do such a thing for her. At that time, they might have been well to do, but the Larsons were frugal, so even if Mr. Larson were to bank in a few hundred dollars to her account every month, she would not use it all. Now… she was no longer Ms. Larson, and a hundred thousand dollars was no small amount. “You don’t have to focus on saving money for Sir, Ms. James. This is just a little token from him.
