"I already called a ride."
"Just cancel it."
Kenneth hopped out of the car with a grin, didn’t even give her a chance to refuse, and yanked her suitcase straight into the trunk.
If he wasn’t driving a luxury ride, people passing by might’ve thought Claire was getting mugged.
He opened the back door for her with a casual "Hop in, don’t be shy—it’s on the way."
Claire felt kinda awkward with how eager he was. Having an elder open the car door for her? A bit much. But rejecting him would be rude, so she smiled, said thanks, and got in.
The second she slid in, her eyes landed on Julian sitting on the other side.
He wasn’t suited up today—light blue shirt, black pants, shiny leather shoes. No tie, but his cufflinks still sparkled. The soft, blue-filtered sunlight through the car window gave him this mysteriously cool vibe—like a high-altitude icy blue flower. Distant. Untouchable.
