Chapter 1052 Once Chloe Shows Up, Joseph Would Be Doomed
Chloe shook Joseph's arm and pleaded, "Let's go together. We can look after each other. If anything happens, I won't be able to explain myself to Jas."
Of course, she hoped they would return safely, but that seemed unlikely considering the current situation.
"Fine, you can come with me, but your safety comes first. No matter what happens, you're the priority, and I come second."
"All right," Chloe agreed, and they sped off to Imperium.
An hour later, they arrived at their destination. The underling who had reported to Joseph earlier rushed out of the bushes upon spotting their vehicle, waving to flag them down.
"Sir, I've contacted our comrades at the off-site training session. Thankfully they had a satellite phone. I told them not to return to Imperium for now. The bad news is that all our comrades inside are now under Otto’s control."
Joseph frowned. "Why would they have a satellite phone?"
"They said Vince gave it to them."
Vince had sensed something was going to happen, so he gave his satellite phone to the off-site training leader a few days ago.
Joseph harrumphed coldly and put on a stern expression. The underling thought Vince might have caused a big problem and timidly asked, "What should we do now, sir?"
Joseph remained silent, gazing at Otto who was standing at the entrance of Imperium. There were several trucks filled with people waiting with him. Making their move now would be as futile as hitting a rock with an egg.
Chloe held her breath and scooted closer to Joseph.
"I know an alternative route into Imperium without alerting them," he whispered.
Her eyes lit up as she asked, "What are we waiting for? Let's go."
Once they released those Otto had caught, armed themselves, and worked with those outside, they could face Otto head-on.
Joseph frowned. "The passage has traps I designed specifically to guard against Duskfall."
He never expected Otto to resort to such despicable means to launch a sneak attack.
"Since you designed them, you should be familiar with them, right? Can’t we avoid the traps?"
"Of course, I'm familiar with them, but avoiding all traps without sustaining injuries is impossible." Joseph was well aware of the danger as he had designed the traps himself.
Chloe frowned as she was scared of death. She did not want to be injured and dreaded unpredictable harm. After she became a mother, she became quite a coward. But right now, there was no other option.
Joseph instructed some of his men to meet up with the training team outside the base and wait for his signal. If he and Chloe successfully released their trapped comrades inside, they would send up a signal flare. That was when those outside were to move in. If there was no signal after a long time, they were to find a safe place and wait.
The underling nodded, his eyes filled with worry. "Watch your six, sir.”
"I will," Joseph responded. He grabbed Chloe's shoulders, and together, they walked resolutely toward the alternative passage.

With a cigar held between his fingers, Otto exuded an air of confidence, his face radiating triumph.
As soon as Chloe arrived, Joseph would be doomed.
Xavia stood at the sidelines, also anticipating Chloe's appearance, although her eagerness was more directed at Joseph. If he did not love her, then he should just die. After all, destroying what one could not have was the best solution. The thought of Chloe taking away the happiness that should have been hers was unbearable for Xavia.
