Chapter 949 Meeting the Psychiatrist
Otto put his coffee aside. "You can't hold onto something forever. You need to let go. Are you seeking revenge on Chloe or are you unwilling to accept the fact that Joseph abandoned you?"
Xavia bit her lip as her temples throbbed. "Yes! I can't accept it! Why should Chloe easily attain something that took me five years to achieve?! She has a happy family and a fulfilling life. Even that little brat treats her well while giving me the same cold shoulder as Joseph does. If Chloe hadn't shown up, everything could’ve been mine. I may have even become part of the Sullivans. How could I accept any of this?!"
"Stop dwelling on it. Just focus on Kenneth, and you'll soon be the queen. And then, you can get whatever you want. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?"
Otto could not fathom Xavia's jealousy. He felt that she was making a big deal out of nothing. He had only been willing to talk to her today because he was in a good mood.
"What about Noah? Can you help me deal with him?" Xavia asked.
"Noah…" Otto stroked his chin as he grinned mischievously. He turned the computer screen toward Xavia and said, "There you go. Desmond stripped him of his shares this morning. He's already miserable enough."
Xavia's gaze shifted to the computer screen and her eyes widened. Earlier in the day, Desmond had held a press conference announcing that Noah was relieved of all his roles and most of his shares in Exotic Star. At the same time, the engagement between Noah and Chloe was canceled. It appeared that Desmond had learned about Noah's true colors and was thoroughly disappointed in him.
Xavia's eyes sparkled as an idea popped into her head. If Desmond had abandoned Noah, it meant that Noah was left with no support. There was no way he could continue to be arrogant without someone to back him up. Chloe had Joseph to protect her, while Noah was left exposed and vulnerable. Since she could not do anything to either Chloe or Joseph, she could pick an easier target.

In the hospital, Emily was browsing on her phone when she suddenly noticed something and handed the phone to Chloe. "Your grandfather held a press conference. He publicly announced that you and Noah have terminated your engagement!”
Chloe looked puzzled. "Let me see."
"You didn't know?" Emily was surprised. She had not expected Desmond to make such a major announcement without telling Chloe.
"I didn't. Grandpa didn't tell me anything," Chloe said, furrowing her brows as she read the comments. She could not understand why Desmond had suddenly changed his stance. He had always been supportive of Noah, even when he made mistakes.
Unless everything that Harold had said was true and the situation was even worse than it appeared. Chloe did not dare to dwell on this possibility. She did not want Noah to go down the wrong path. She hoped he would always remain a clean and upright young man.
"No. 28, Ms. Chloe," the nurse called from the examination room.
"Coming," Chloe responded.
"What discomforts have you been feeling, miss?" The doctor was a woman in her late fifties with a kindly demeanor and a gentle voice.
"I've been experiencing frequent headaches, and the neurology department recommended that I come here," Chloe explained hesitantly, feeling a bit awkward. "But I'm in good spirits."
Upon hearing that Chloe had been referred to this place by another department, the doctor knew what was going on. She started by handing Chloe a questionnaire to fill out.
Chloe completed the form honestly. After the doctor examined it carefully, she said, "Relax. If you're resistant to regular evaluation, we can conduct a more in-depth one to understand your condition better."
