The night was quiet, and Kathleen couldn't sleep.
Shawn would live on, and that made her happy. After all, he was her mom's lifesaver.
Now, she wouldn't be a widow anymore, just divorced.
In March, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, and the city's air was faintly scented with their sweet fragrance.
Jeremy had returned. He came with a divorce agreement for Kathleen.

"His health isn't fully recovered yet, so he can't come back. That's why I'm bringing this to you," Jeremy explained briefly, reviewing the agreement's details.
Kathleen was a little surprised. She thought Shawn would come back in person to handle it.
But it didn't really matter. The result was the same whether he came or not.
