Haley's POV:
I hadn’t slept. Not really. I might’ve closed my eyes for a bit, but I didn’t rest. Not when my heart felt like it had been pulled from my chest and stomped on. I laid in bed, staring at the shadows on the ceiling, thinking about everything I’d built—everything that had crumbled overnight. The worst part was, I didn’t need anyone to explain. I didn’t need a text or a call or some ridiculous excuse. The truth had already been delivered to me, neatly wrapped in a notification on my phone. A photo—Joey, naked, curled up beside Sebastian, just like a wife might lie against her husband. It wasn’t just the intimacy of it—it was the ease. As if she belonged there. As if I never had.
I stared at that image for so long the screen turned black. My hands felt numb. My chest hurt in a way that couldn’t be soothed with sleep or tears. I knew then—there was no going back. Not after this.
But even with all the pain, even with the betrayal still fresh in my veins, I knew I couldn’t break
