Orentis felt like a foreign dream-steeped in ancient charm, yet somehow buzzing with the kind of romance that draws in wanderers from all over.
The second they landed, with half of the thirty-hour day still left to go, Cassian didn't waste a second. He whisked Sabrina straight into the heart of town to see the famous Trevi Fountain.
It wasn't until they got there that she realized-oh, this was *the* Wishing Fountain.
Of course, it was a holiday, so naturally, the place was packed. Like, can't-move-your-arms packed.
Just standing near the crowd made her head throb.
Cassian was even less thrilled than she was about the crush of people. He glanced back, expression flat. "Stay here. Don't move."
And with that, he strode off, quick and sharp.
Sabrina stood blinking at the sea of people that quickly swallowed his tall frame. He was gone.
Weirdly, a hollow feeling crept into her chest. Like she'd been left behind.
