The sea breeze whipped through Sabrina' hair, tossing the strands across her face.
She stood there, a little dazed, like all this was too much to take in at once.
She'd paid a private investigator to dig into her past, hoping to piece herself together. But aside from basic info like her family and schooling, her emotional history was basically blank. Everything about her seemed way too neat, too plain-compared to other girls her age, her life felt... empty.
Weirdly enough, the file the PI handed her had more detailed dirt on the people around her than on herself.
Still, she couldn't just deny the man standing in front of her. A fleeting memory in her mind-just a flash-had a man like him in it. He'd been gentle. Warm. He made her heart flutter.
As she brushed back her messy hair, the man looked at her with eyes so full of emotion, it felt like even the coldest heart could melt under that gaze.
