Chapter 563

Mayra stayed in the washroom for a long time because of the pain she felt in her abdomen. She wondered if she was getting her period because she only started having periods around this age in her past life. "The timing can't be worse. Andy is still here, and it would be so awkward if he saw blood on my skirt," she thought. She asked the waitress for sanitary products, and by the time she came back outside, all the dishes were served. Recalling that she had to sit next to Anderson, she walked over awkwardly and stopped before the dining table. "Andy, why don't I just sit across from you? I don't want to get in your way." Just then, a waitress came over with a pink teddy bear that was around five feet tall and set it on the couch across from them. The manager smiled. "We're grateful that you both chose to dine here. This is the latest limited edition teddy bear. We saved this for Ms. Sadler. Hope you like it, Ms. Sadler." "Thank you," Mayra said. The teddy bear took up a lot of space, so she could only move closer to Anderson. "Do you like it?" Anderson asked in a deep voice. Mayra wasn't that interested in things that only little girls would like. She smiled, not wanting to upset Anderson. However, he saw through her every move and knew that she was just faking a smile in front of him. This teddy bear was trendy to the point that the demand for it surpassed its supply. Every girl in her class had one, but not one of such a large size. She only found out not long ago that this teddy bear was being sold at around three thousand. It was something that Mayra would consider extremely expensive, but Anderson simply saw it as a toy. It was something he bought for her, so she had to act like she liked it. "Remember to bring it with you on your way back." "Sure. Thank you, Andy." "Try the seabass. It's not bad." Anderson cut out the softest part of the seabass for her. Shane had left, so the two were left alone in the large restaurant. Outside the window, the sky was pitch-black. There were just a few cars crossing the roads at this hour. Mayra didn't know when it started, but she found herself uncomfortable whenever she dined with Anderson. She ate quietly while Anderson served food to her plate. She focused on eating, and Anderson acted more like he was feeding a pet. Mayra didn't eat much but soon felt full. After dinner, she needed to head home. The night was dark, and it was almost 11:00 pm. The city's hustle and bustle gradually quieted, leaving only the faint glow of neon lights flickering under the night sky. A black car slowly drove into a quiet residential area, its headlights tracing a bright path through the darkness. Inside the car, Marya held a gigantic pink teddy bear while leaning against the window, her hair casting a faint shadow on the glass. Shane turned the steering wheel and stopped the car before a building. He turned around and said respectfully, "Mr. Barlow, we're here." Anderson leaned in and brushed his fingers past Mayra's hair. "There's no rush." He sat in the darkness, his figure appearing even more prominent under the dim light. He bent and tucked her hair behind her ear before touching her cheek. Sensing the motion, Mayra opened her eyes and looked at Anderson dazedly. At first, she remained dazed, but her gaze sharpened shortly after. Realizing that she was home, she straightened her back and backed away from his touch. "Am I home?" she asked lazily. Anderson withdrew his hand and said gently, "Yeah." "I'll get going now, then."
