Chapter 576
If she repeated the same mistake one day, she couldn't think of anyone who would remember her apart from Gordon.
Apart from Gordon, she no longer had anyone who cared about her.
Anderson had changed. They used to rely on one another, but he had his own family now.
If she left this world one day, time would eventually erase her from Anderson's memory.
No one would care about an orphan.
No one would care that an ordinary person disappeared.
…
In the latter half of the night, the snow fell harder.
A towering man stood before the window, his presence cold.
Candor City was unlike Belchester City. Candor City was bright and glorious as it was the biggest trading hub in the world.
Shane crossed his arms and asked, "Isn't it too late to call Ms. Sadler at this time? She's probably already asleep."
Anderson turned around and walked over to the wine cabinet. He set his wine glass down next to an empty bottle.
His gaze remained dark. "When Mayra saw Hailey, what did she say?"
"Nothing," Shane said honestly. "Ms. Sadler was in a rush to leave at the time."
Anderson closed his eyes and tried to suppress his pain before waving his hand.
Shane nodded and walked toward the door. Before he could get far, he heard someone dropping on the ground in the presidential suite.
An ambulance raced toward Candor Hospital.
Apart from Shane, Hailey followed along as well.
Coincidentally, Harley wanted to see his father and threw a big tantrum. Hailey was rendered helpless and could only bring him over.
In the beginning, Hailey didn't know that Anderson would be here as well as he mentioned he wouldn't interfere with her relationship with Harley. It had been so long since he saw Harley, so she decided to bring Harley along.
The dim light cast a shadow over the corridor while doctors and nurses whispered to one another hurriedly.
Outside the emergency room, Hailey stood outside, clenching her hands together.
Her fingers were turning white as she stared into the operating room through the semi-transparent glass door. However, all she saw were blurred figures moving around.
"Didn't you tell him not to drink?" A slightly hoarse voice broke the silence.
Those words struck Hailey, and after a few moments of silence, she looked at Shane with conflicted emotions. "You… should take care of him."
"No one dares to tell Mr. Barlow what to do apart from Mrs. Barlow. Thank you for coming along," Shane said.
