"Mr. Holten, I'm curious. How did we become friends on Facebook?"
Louisa had to admit that although she was the one who had mistakenly sent the message to him, she wouldn't have done it if he weren't on her friend list.
Elijah kept his eyes on the road. The harsh sunlight hit his face, creating a sharp contrast of light and shadow that seemed to illustrate the two sides of his personality.
His long fingers tapped rhythmically against the steering wheel. "You're asking me? I was about to ask you the same thing."
Louisa paused. He didn't know either?
"I have no idea. I definitely didn't add you," she said firmly.
They had moved in completely different circles. Their only past interactions were moments when Elijah had been uncharacteristically helpful, and even then, he usually just gave a curt nod and walked away after she thanked him. She didn't even have his phone number, so why would she add him on Facebook?
