As soon as they walked in, Matthew used his long leg to swing the door shut behind them, then leaned back against it, arms crossed like he wasn’t planning on letting Serena leave anytime soon.
Serena puffed out her cheeks, glaring fiercely at his smug, “gotcha” expression. “Jerk,” she snapped. It almost felt like they were back in those early days again — but instead of the cold, distant CEO, Matthew now looked more like a cheeky rascal who’d tossed his composure out the window.
