Chapter 19
Third-Person POV:
It was Silas and Roxanne's wedding anniversary again.
Silas returned home with a cake he had ordered in advance, only to find the house empty. He searched the entire house, but Roxanne was nowhere to be found.
As the fear of losing her seized him once more, he made a call to the police. Suddenly, the sound of a plate shattering on the floor rang out from the kitchen.
Silas hurried over, only to find Roxanne standing there with reddened eyes.
"I have cancer, Silas," Roxanne whimpered.
Before Silas could speak, his surroundings turned pitch-black.
Roxanne appeared in a different spot than before—only this time, she was thin and frail. Her gaze was cold as she looked at Silas. "Are you having fun deceiving yourself, Silas Huntington?"
A droning sound filled Silas' mind.
Roxanne then watched as tears fell from his eyes.
"I apologize, Silas. I'm not going to forgive you this time, because I really and truly do not love you anymore," she said.
