Chapter 110 The Wedding Dress

I arrive home feeling drained. The talk I had with Nicholas used up all my energy.
Leaning back against the front door, I close my eyes.
Our conversation replays in my mind like a broken CD, the words looping over and over again.
Nicholas laughs, but there’s no humor in it. “You know what, Alicia? Maybe I should hate you.”
Nicholas shakes his head, a humorless smile on his lips. “Fine. If this is how you want to play it, then let’s do it your way. I’ll be the monster. I’ll be the villain in your story.”
Those words hit me harder than I want to admit.
I guess this is it. We’re finally back to where it all started. I hate him. He hates me.
Just like how it’s supposed to be.
“Alicia, dear, what are you doing leaning on the door?”
My eyes snap open, and I see my mother walking toward me, a curious expression on her face.
I force a weak smile and shake my head. “Just… tired, Mom.”
