I stood straight as Diego walked in. He did more than I gave him credit for, and I was, in all honesty, more grateful.
"Some men got to the alley before our men," he began.
"There were no bodies to take care of, but the men picked up wolf scents around the area from a truck. Managed to place trackers."
"That's great. We can go after them and rescue Mira immediately," Kara said, already moving forward towards the door.
I grabbed her hand to stop her from going any further.
For someone who had been able to hide away from the Red Shadow Pack, and even disappear without Alpha Ryder sensing anything, she was being a lot careless right now, I thought, biting my tongue as I fought for the right words.
"It's not going to work like that, Kara," I sighed.
She jerked her hand away from mine.
"We have a lead, and every minute we spend here thinking about it means Mira is in more danger," she snapped.
