Chapter 531 What Is Love

Annie was in the hospital. Currently, she was looking forward to her 30 days confinement period being over. On that day, she was looking at the scenery, feeling rather bored. Unexpectedly, she saw Yeager. She looked at Yeager, who seemed rather depressed, and said, "Dr. Samuel, how did you even find the time to visit me?" She thought back to when she had introduced Queenie to him. It made her feel embarrassed. After all, she was not into interfering with other people's lives. Yeager smiled. "I'm here today to clarify something. In the meantime, I'm here to end something as well." His comment left Annie puzzled. Yeager was still smiling. He took his time to say, "I want to know if we had met each other before our meeting with the professor?" Annie looked at the gentleman before her, astonished. 'He… it can't be…' She hesitated but ended up nodding her head. "Yes. I did go and consult you about depression." Yeager looked at Annie calmly. He had thought that he would be agitated. Yet, it did not happen. There was no longer any curiosity dwelling within him. Even when faced with that pair of crystal clear eyes, he could handle it without any emotional agitation. Under his intense gaze, Annie was terrified. She thought to herself, 'It can be that he has a crush on me, right?' Her thoughts made her feel ridiculous. 'It is true that your personality will become similar to those you mix around with. I can't believe I'm acting just like Myles. 'So thick-faced.' "I like you." Yeager suddenly blurted out the commen. It made Annie so scared that she was almost going to pass out. 'Like me? ‘Does he have the wrong person?' Annie looked into Yeager's eyes meticulously. 'People say that when one confesses their feelings for another, their eyes will not tell lies.' Upon gazing into Yeager's eyes, Annie noticed that they looked rather calm. It was not the type where one was sincerely in love with her. "However, from today onward, I can finally let that feeling go." Yeager smiled. Annie looked at him, puzzled. She did not feel disappointed. Instead, she felt weird. "May I just ask you one question? Is this what you want to settle here?" "Yes." Yeager felt relieved. "Thank you, Annie." "Huh? Why thank me?" "Thank you for letting me know what true love is, along with what it means to remember someone." Annie looked at the man before her. Although she was not entirely sure what he wanted to express, she replied, "Good luck! I'm sure you'll be able to find your other half that you won’t be able to lose in your life." Yeager nodded his head slightly and said confidently, "Thanks, I've already found her. So, you don't have to introduce any other ladies to me anymore." Annie's face turned bright pink, and she softly said, "So, you knew about it?" "Yeah." Yeager looked at Annie's eyes and still thought that her eyes were gorgeous. "Samson told me about it. However, I still have to thank you. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have headed over to the dating scene with Miss Scott. I won't be able to meet up with her again." "Oh, so that means, you and your crush…" Annie looked at Yeager like a busybody. Perhaps it was because she had been bored for a very long time that Annie found herself being more of a busybody lately. Yeager put on a disappointed look on his face. "Perhaps it's because our fate is not to be together. So, up till now, I still don’t know her name. However, I do have her photo." Yeager took out his phone and looked for the photo. He then let Annie have a look. 'That sincere look looks like…' Annie was dumbfounded ,and her expression changed. She did not know whether or not to tell Yeager that she knew who the person in the photo was. Yeager did not notice Annie's expression and said, "If you meet this lady, could you please tell her that I love her?" Annie lifted her head and looked at the serious man in front of her. In the end, she simply nodded her head. After Yeager left, Annie started counting her fingers. It had been quite a long time since she saw Xena and Lola. Although she disliked Lola's aunty quite a bit, the siblings were stunning. They had a vibe that could immediately make everyone take a liking to them. Speaking of them made Annie’s heart feel warm and light. 'Why not I give them a call? I might as well ask how Xena is doing.' She thought about it and immediately summoned Yasmin. After hearing about it, Yasmin quickly went and made the call happily. She could make it seem like Annie was always very bored being alone in the hospital whenever Myles was absent. 'It would be a good idea if I could get a few more people to come over to talk to Mrs. Jennings.' At that moment, Xena was sitting in front of her aunty. The latter was terrified. On the table were all of her medical records. Not to mention, the tools which she had used to make the bomb. Marry looked at her niece and blew her nose. She then asked, "Why did you hide it from us?" "It's obviously because I didn’t want you guys to find out about it." Xena smiled, hoping to get rid of the depressing vibe that was lingering in the air. 'Right now, it’s useless to ask Aunt how she found out about her medical records.' Marry looked at Xena helplessly. At that moment, she was like a little kid. When her brother passed away, everything, regardless of whether it was an issue within the house or outside the house, was settled by Xena. Now that Xena was sick, it was also Xena who was hanging on to it. The thought of it made Marry feel heartbroken. Consequently, she cried.
