Chapter 533 You Are The Culprit
By the time Myles filed out of the room, Xena was already standing at the end of the corridor.
It was an empty space, and it was guaranteed that no one would be able to eavesdrop on them there.
When Myles walked over to her, Xena pointed to the trees of Kapok and said, "Look how wonderful lives are."
She took in a deep breath and put on a smile.
Myles looked in a direction far away while he wore a serious expression. "Why did your aunt want to harm me?"
At that moment, Xena had been on the brink of explaining herself. She was ready to even beg Myles not to take back the 20 million. However, the word aunt made her lose her cool.
It was scarier than herself being found out as the creator of the bomb.
"My aunt?"
"The bombing incident that happened a few days ago. Don't tell me that you're not aware of it."
Myles continued to look in the same direction far away. He hated such contradictions. Xena had once rescued Annie's life, but her aunt had tried to take his life away.
'This is troublesome.
'It is just like what happened with the Lou family.'
Regarding the Lou family, he had to put in more thought when handling the matter because of the connections his grandfather had.
"I know, but how is it possible that it's my aunt? She didn't…"
Myles' gaze landed on Xena.
Xena's body felt a cold sensation. It seemed as if his intense gaze was going to drown her in water.
"How do you plan to deal with my aunt?" she asked the man before her, terrified.
Myles smiled coldly. "How else except by sending her to the police station?"
He could only give in that much.
Xena nodded, and her eyes glinted unpleasantly. She spun around and said, "Help me tell Annie that I'll be heading back now. Also, please don't tell my sister about it. I'm afraid she might not be able to take it."
After saying that, her silhouette slowly faded like the setting sun.
Myles reentered the ward.
As soon as he entered, Annie faced him anxiously. She then looked behind him before asking nervously, "Where's Xena?"
'It can't be that Myles bullied her?'
Myles slowly shifted his gaze and looked at Lola. He said, "Your sister has already gone home. You should head home as well."
Currently, he did not wish to see anyone from the Laurels family. Otherwise, he could not guarantee that he would not carry out a massacre.
Lola looked at Myles' dark expression. She was afraid of how he was at the moment. Hence, she said to Annie, "Annie, I'll take my leave now."
After saying that, she quickly made a run for it.
Yasmin got the hint and placed the kids in the baby carriage. She then pushed the two babies out of the room.
Annie watched as Lola exited the room, along with Yasmin and the kids. She quickly pulled Myles' hands, which were clenched tightly, toward her and said, "Now, you can tell me what's actually going on, right?"
Myles nodded and said, "I found the person who installed the bomb in my car."
Annie was immediately able to guess that the culprit had connections with the Laurels family. However, she was not willing to point her finger at the Laurels. Thus, she lifted her chin before frowning and pleading, "Please don't tell me that it's someone related to the Laurels family."
Myles tapped Annie's back gently, seemingly comforting the grievances she was feeling. He slowly nodded his head and said, "It's Xena's aunt."
"Xena's aunt?" Of course, Annie remembered that lady. Indeed, she was a lady that was not easy to deal with. 'But… but such a detailed bomb, could Xena's aunt really have created it?'
"Yes." Myles felt somewhat hesitant within him as well. "She's the one who took the initiative to admit that she's the one who had created it. Besides, she even handed over the tools she used."
Annie shook her head. She was not willing to think about it. She took in a deep breath and asked, "So, how do you plan to deal with her?"
"I'll let the police handle it," Myles said. His mind was being flooded with thoughts.
Annie nodded. She knew that it was the most Myles could do to give in. After all, Xena had once saved her life.
The thought of it made Annie look at Myles sadly. She asked, "Say, why did she do it? For money? If it was for the money, why would she surrender on her own accord?"
'By her surrendering, she’ll still have to return the money to Myles. With that being said, wouldn't she have just wasted all her effort?
'Why would she put in so much effort to carry out such a task, then?'
Myles was also pondering on that question. First of all, he felt that Xena's aunt was not intelligent enough to do such a thing. That was because it involved way too many principles related to physics and chemistry.
According to what he knew about Marry, he could make out that Xena's aunt was not that intelligent. Instead, it was someone with great knowledge like Xena who had most likely created the meticulous bomb.
Both Myles and Annie knew what was on their minds. Despite Myles not saying anything, Annie could still tell that he had begun suspecting Xena.
"Perhaps, she's the one who made Xena do it, and Xena had not been aware of it?"
Annie tried to find a reasonable excuse.
Nevertheless, that excuse was a little too far-fetched.
Myles gently shook his head and said, "If her aunt had cheated her, she would have been surprised. However, she wasn’t. It's as if she had already known about it for a long time."
"But, I don't think it's Xena." Annie shook her head. She was not willing to suspect her savior.
'Besides, Xena is a kind person.'
Annie was very confident in that.
Myles was not in a hurry to deny Annie. Instead, he said, "I've got her details right here."
The tabulated data displayed everything.
Previously, Myles had made Hugh collect information about Xena. Nevertheless, he had not looked at it up till now because he had been too busy. Now was a great opportunity to get to know the lady who had suddenly shown up.
Myles looked at his phone and then at Annie before he said, "Wait for a moment."
After saying that, he walked out of the ward.
In no time, he returned while holding a huge stack of documents in his hands.
'This fella…'
Annie looked at the stack of documents in Myles' hand with mixed feelings. She felt a sense of anticipation as it seemed like the truth was about to be revealed. On the other hand, she felt anxious for wanting to peep at it.
Myles flipped through the documents. The scent of ink wafted up Annie’s nose. It made Annie, who was feeling anxious, pant.
She put her hand near her chest as if she was in pain. She was praying to God for it not to be Xena. 'Please not be Xena, please not be Xena.'
The clean, white documents were filled with the glamorous events of Xena's life. Each of the lines stated that she was a genius in technology, and she was the future Albert Einstein.
Myles flipped to the third page, and it was all about Xena’s background. She had lost her mother when she was a kid, she had lost her father when she was a teenager. She had an aunt and a young sister; they were the only family members she had in the world.
At the moment, her company was facing a crisis.
"Could that be why she married Ethan?" Annie shrugged and leaned her body against Myles.
Myles held Annie by the waist and used his arm as a pillar to support Annie.
He flipped to another page and saw the word stomach cancer. This immediately struck Annie hard.
She looked at Myles, astonished. Myles' face also put on a shocked expression.
He had not expected Xena to have cancer.
'Then it must have been her for sure."
Myles said confidently.
