Madeleine woke up as usual and went to work, but Iris began to feel worried. “Three days is over, Madeleine, you…” “Huh?” Madeleine was stunned for a moment before she lamented. “Three days have passed? Time moved rather swiftly.” Iris did not feel secure as she watched how Madeleine had brushed off the matter so easily. ‘What’s going on with her? Three days have gone by but Young Master Yeich and Lil Millet never appeared, yet Madeleine can still be so relaxed? ‘She looked confident but is that coming from within or just on the surface? I can’t tell.’ “Since the time is up, then you shall go to Lil Millet’s school earlier to get him.” “Huh?” Iris widened her eyes. “I’ll pick Lil Millet up? Is this… alright? Have you informed Young Master Yeich?” “Nope.” Madeleine calmly replied to Iris. Iris made a crying expression. “Are you sure it’s fine for me to just take Lil Millet if you didn’t inform him?” “Don’t worry. You just go and get Lil Millet. I’ll look for Mason after work as well.” Iris felt more at ease since Madeleine said that she was going to look for Mason. When it was almost time to leave the office, Iris informed Madeleine and dashed out of the building. Once Iris had left, Madeleine glanced at her phone that was on the table. Her phone had been quiet the whole day, not even a chime. To be exact, her phone had been quiet for a few days. Mason seemed to have vanished from her life without a trace. Over the past three days, he did not leave any message for her nor gave her a call. It was as if he had disappeared from the face of this earth. In comparison with the frequency he appeared in front of her before this, Madeleine lowered her gaze in defeat. Not a trace of a smile could be seen on her face. ‘Since Iris has left earlier to wait for Lil Millet, then I’ll head over to Yeich Group to wait for Mason.’ Once she had made up her mind, she immediately got to action. After tidying and closing up her work, she left the office, drove her car toward the direction of Yeich Group. Yeich Group. Madeleine arrived just as people were leaving the office. Madeleine thought for a moment and decided to wait downstairs for Mason. If she went up now, she was worried that she may miss him. The place she stopped did not allow cars to park for a long time, so Madeleine had to drive over to a nearby parking lot. She went to sit inside the cafe opposite his company, ordered a cup of coffee, and sat by the window to wait. She had a strategic position by a clear window where she could take in all that was happening in one glance. She would be able to see Mason the moment he came out. Madeleine held her phone, tapped on the Facebook Messenger app, and looked at that familiar profile picture, wondering if she should give him a call or send him a message. After some thought, she felt that since she was already here, there was no need to call or message him. She would just wait till he appeared. Time ticked by. Five minutes later, Madeleine finally saw a familiar figure walking out. Her heart raced as she quickly put down the cup of coffee that was in her hand, took her bag, and ran over. Mason was holding his car keys as he left the building with a frown on his forehead because he realized that he was running late. For him to get to Lil Millet now, the boy would have been waiting for him for a long time. That was why he took faster steps that Madeleine was having a hard time catching up with him. Furthermore, she was wearing heels today but that man in front of her had increased his speed. Madeleine thought that he had discovered her and did not want her to catch up with him because he did not want to see her. Out of anger, she decided to stop and shouted at his back. “Mason Yeich.” That man in front of her paused for a moment. His brows furrowed even tighter than before. ‘Am I hallucinating? ‘Did I… just hear her voice? ‘It can’t be. Based on her character, she would never come to look for me? I think I must be beginning to have hallucinations because I missed her so much.’
