City Hospital.
"How are they doing?" Sullivan asked the doctor, his voice calm but laced with tension.
His soaked clothes still clung to him, water dripping off and forming a small puddle at his feet.
With his sharp looks and cool, commanding presence, it was no wonder the two young nurses kept sneaking glances at him, their cheeks a little too pink.
Camila and Emma were both asleep.
Sullivan had specifically asked the nurses to change them out of their wet clothes. Now they lay quietly in fresh hospital gowns.
"No major injuries, just worn out. Give them some IV glucose and they'll bounce back soon," the doctor explained while signaling the nurses to start the drips.
"Thanks," Sullivan nodded.
He watched the doctor leave, the nurses dragging their feet a little as if reluctant to go, then pulled out his phone.
Since he'd slipped it into a waterproof case before the chaos, it was still dry.
He frowned at the list of missed calls, stepped out of the room, and leaned against the doorway
