I set my pen down and quietly looked at Oliver, my heart pounding.
He was right beside me, those stunning blue eyes wrapping around me like waves, soft and steady.
“Luna, I’ll take the contract back to the pack,” David suddenly said.
He stood up, gave us a respectful nod, then left the room without another word.
Clearly, he wanted to give us some privacy.
Oliver leaned in a little closer. “Hey love, what’s bothering you?”
He picked up on my uneasiness, the fear I was trying to hide.
