Chapter 276 You Were The One Who Agreed To This
Sophia made only less than half a minute eye contact with him then looked away. "...I'm going upstairs now."
"Go on." Charles paused, then raised his wrist and glanced at his watch, adding, "It’s seven o’clock now, before eight… half-past seven, you will still have a chance to back out. I will think of a solution to solve this problem."
Sophia stopped dead in her tracks without looking back. "There’s no need for that."
She would take care of her own problems. She could not be relying on him her entire life.
As for the child, she would do her best to protect and make up for him or her.
Sophia went back to her room and took a shower. After hesitating for a moment, she blow-dried her hair, went to bed after taking off her slippers, and laid in the blanket. She was afraid of getting cold, but there was already heating in the villa. She put her hands outside, the scars on her arms were set against the pure white quilt, making them look particularly obvious, like twisted centipedes.
Tick, tick.
The ticking of the cartoon alarm clock by her bed sounded particularly loud, striking over and over again on Sophia's heart, causing her heart to pound with it.
Seven twenty.
Ten minutes left.
Sophia licked her dry lips, sat up, and switched off the light in the room, leaving only the lamp on the bedside table switched on. She raised her head and stared intently for a while, then went back to bed. Within a minute or two, she stood up again and switched on the light in the room.
The lights were too bright, would it be particularly awkward for them to stare at each other later?
Sophia frowned and switched off the light in the room again, but before she could walk back to the side of the bed, she retraced her steps again and switched on the light in the room.
She wondered if Charles would turn up in a suit. She had never unbuckled a man’s belt before.
She had also forgotten whether he was wearing a tie today. It might be embarrassing if she could not untie his tie and belt if the lights were switched off.
There was also one more thing. She did not know if this was also Charles’ first time. If they could not find the right position like some of the couples on the Internet, all their efforts tonight might be in vain, which could add to the embarrassment.

After dumping the leftovers into the trash can, Charles wanted to put the dirty dishes, dirty bowls, and dirty chopsticks in the dishwasher, but when he snapped back to his senses, he realized that he had thrown all the plates and bowls into the trash can as well.
He looked at the trash can that had filled up in an instant and rubbed his brows gently, then went upstairs to take a shower. When he came out, he realized that he came out of the shower five minutes faster than usual.
Charles picked up the hairdryer and switched it on. After only two seconds, he switched it off again.
His hair was still dripping wet as drops of water trickled down his hair, flowing all the way down along his body. He watched as the water droplets merged into his bath towel and vanished, seemingly lost in his thoughts.
He then reached out and moved his towel, pulling it down a little to expose his Apollo’s belt, yet not so much that it would expose his private parts.
Charles looked in the mirror, turned around and frowned. He then yanked off his bath towel and started rummaging around his suits and picked one out.
After changing his clothes, he picked up his men's cologne but put it down again after hesitating for a moment. He tidied himself up in the mirror, took off his suit jacket, undid his tie, then loosened his cufflinks, and rolled up his shirt’s sleeve a little, revealing his elegant and well-defined forearms.
After doing these, Charles glanced at the time—nineteen past seven.
He put on his watch, picked up his phone, and retraced his steps when he reached the door. He removed his watch, put it on the table with his phone, and finally walked out the door.
Sophia's room was just next to Charles’. He walked to the door and wanted to knock but put his hand down again after raising it.
She still had ten minutes to think about it.
He stood in front of her room door and wanted to smoke but realized that he had none on him when he tried to reach for it. The Whites did not smoke, whereas Sophia hated the smell of cigarettes. Ever since he discovered his feelings for her, he stopped carrying cigarettes with him.
Charles leaned against the wall and kicked his room door open with his foot. His gaze fell on the clock hanging on his bedroom wall as he waited in silence for ten minutes to go by. It was also at this moment that he realized that ten minutes was actually so long.
He shifted the position of his legs by moving them back and forth, then dropped his head and stared at the ground, only to see the light in the room switched on and off through the cracks of the room door.
Charles raised his eyebrows slightly and chuckled in an exceedingly soft manner. His tense muscles had loosened up considerably.
At half-past seven, he opened the door and walked in.
The light in the bedroom was switched off, leaving only the lamp beside the bed switched on. Sophia was sitting on the edge of the bed and was about to take off her slippers and get into bed. As though surprised to see him coming in at this moment, she turned her head to him abruptly wearing a look of surprise and apprehension on her face that she had failed to conceal in time.
All of a sudden, his heart shuddered.
Sophia did not expect Charles to come over precisely at half-past seven. She was stunned for a moment, then took off her slippers and climbed into the bed, burying herself in the blanket.
She tried her best to remain calm and said to him, "Close the door."
She made the right choice to switch off the light. That way, at least they would not be able to see each other so clearly, nor would they feel quite as embarrassed.
"Mm." After closing the door, Charles walked to the side of the bed and propped his hands up on her sides. "Ready?"
The breath he exhaled carried a faint smell of wine, but it was not unpleasant at all.
Under the dim light, the lines on his face had softened considerably, he did not look as indifferent as he used to anymore. Even his facial features looked much more distinct as it was colored with a trace of rare charm.
Sophia pursed her lips. She did not answer his question but propped up her right elbow on the bed and held herself up to plant a kiss on his lips.
"!" The soft touch he felt on his lips turned Charles' body rigid. He was breathing slightly faster than usual. He then cupped her face in his hands, pried her teeth apart, and plunged in.
The strong smell of alcohol in his mouth quickly reached Sophia's mouth along his lips and tongue. She paused for a moment and loosened her left arm that was wrapped around his neck suddenly.
She had made the decision too fast and wondered if she would regret it.
If she actually conceived, then it would be difficult for her to leave him again…
Charles picked up on her tiny movement and frowned imperceptibly, kissing her harder. While supporting the back of her head with one hand, he moved his other hand under her pajamas and touched her bra.
Sophia's entire body went stiff. She subconsciously grabbed his hand that had gone under her clothes. Before the wheels in her head could turn, her other hand was already pushing firmly on his chest.
"You were the one who agreed to this..." Her resistance made Charles frown slightly harder. He hesitated for a fleeting moment, but quickly unhooked her bra and tossed it out.
Just like what Zachary said, Sophia did not love him as much as she used to anymore. Therefore, she would only stay by his side willingly if she was pregnant!
Charles kissed her, his body pressed firmly against hers, his well-defined hands roamed all over her body, teasing her.
Sophia's pajamas were tossed aside without her realizing it. He planted kisses all over her body. His lips were slightly cold but every spot where he planted his kiss was burning.
When she felt an unfamiliar and bare sensation coming from her body, she took a deep breath, encircled her legs around his lean waist, and screwed her eyes shut with a frown.
When Charles kissed back, he touched the tears on her face. After a moment’s hesitation, he lowered his hip on hers and pushed his way in.
"I love you, Sophia..."
