Liv’s POV
Kaelon had barely walked out of the restaurant when I felt the air leave the room, leaving me flustered and dazed.
The card he’d casually set down before leaving, stared at me and I bet he would still classify it as one of the perks for my outstanding performance.
I turned it over in my fingers, examining the embossed text and the elegant Blackwood Corporation logo.
Shaking off the lingering effect of his presence, I stood up, slipping the card into my purse.
As if on cue, my phone buzzed in my pocket. It was the driver Kaelon had sent for me. His professionalism was evident as he confirmed his location outside the restaurant.
I quickly thanked him and headed out, handing him the keys to Rose’s car with a quick explanation.
Climbing into the back seat, I tried to relax during the ride, but my thoughts were a mess.
The city lights blurred past the window as I stared out, trying to piece together how I’d let myself get caught in such a complicated situation.
