Through the rearview mirror, Connor caught Broderick's sharp, warning look-but pretended he didn't see it.
"It was Reginald."
Just as she thought!
Leslie's face instantly darkened.
The next second, she turned her frustration onto Broderick. "So he hit you and you just let him? Can't dodge? Can't fight back? Who even cares about Reginald? You're young and strong-he's heading toward retirement! How are you losing to him?"

Broderick squinted. Where did this tiny girl pick up that kind of language?
"Hey, watch your mouth. No swearing."

Leslie snapped back, but all of a sudden, tears welled up in her eyes and started falling fast.
Her cute little nose turned red, eyes too-like a teary bunny.
One minute she was yelling, and the next, she was crying.
Broderick didn't quite know what to do.
Even his little sister hadn't cried in front of him for ages.
