I was about to get into my car when I suddenly realized I had forgotten my bag.
I paused, my hand still on the car door, then turned around to head back toward the restaurant.
That was when I saw Noah and his assistant walking toward the parking lot.
My gaze immediately landed on the item in his hand.
It was my bag.
I stopped in place for a moment, hesitating.
Part of me considered walking over and asking for it, but then I remembered that there was nothing important inside. It only had a few makeup items—powder, lipstick, things I could easily replace.
It was a good thing I had taken my phone with me earlier.
I opened my car and quickly checked inside, making sure my memory was right. I had left my wallet there when I paid for my coffee earlier.
Relief settled in my chest when I saw it sitting safely where I had left it.
