Chapter 278
In the afternoon, Yolanda returned to Anmer Heights. The moment she entered, she ran into Michael.
Michael placed his hands on his hips. He scrutinized Yolanda head to toe before asking, "Who are you?"
Yolanda frowned. "And who are you? Why are you in Lo's house?"
"Lo?" Hearing that, Michael's eyes widened with anger as he shouted, "Loid Laurier, you little rascal! Get down here this instant!"
Loid was upstairs on a phone call. He ran downstairs as soon as he heard Michael. Lily heard the commotion and came downstairs as well.
"Mr. Morris—"
Before Loid could speak, Michael pointed at him, fuming with anger. "You little brat. How dare you bully my apprentice right in front of me? Do you think I'm too old and frail to deal with you?"
"Is there a misunderstanding?" Loid asked politely. How could he dare bully Lily? It was a wonder she didn't bully him.
"Misunderstanding?" Michael fumed. He glared and pointed at Yolanda asking, "Who is she, then? You let a little girl live in your house. What do you want? To be an emperor with a girl on each side?"
Yolanda stomped her foot in anger. "What nonsense are you spouting? I'd never share Lo with Lily."
Loid glared at her and shouted, "Shut up!"
"Lo—" Before Yolanda could finish speaking, Loid gave her a cold look. That made her instantly fall silent.
Turning to Michael, Loid explained with a slight smile, "She's the daughter of an old family friend. I owe them a favor, so I'm letting her stay here temporarily. Once the SATs are over, she'll leave."
Michael said righteously, "That won't do. You're Lily's fiancé. You can't have anything to do with any other woman. Make her leave right this minute."
Lily massaged her forehead in frustration. What was wrong with Michael lately? He wasn't usually this unreasonable.
Loid thought for a moment and said, "Alright. I'll arrange for her to stay in a hotel." He didn't want Yolanda to stay here in the first place. Now that he needed to appease Michael, getting rid of Yolanda was no big deal.
Loid turned around and said indifferently to Yolanda, "Pack your things. I'll have Daniel arrange a hotel for you."
"Lo, you…" Yolanda never thought that Michael's words were more important than her favor. He was actually throwing her out.
"I'll repay Agnes' favor another time." Loid's expression was cold, leaving no room for argument.
"But… But…" Yolanda felt wronged and looked at Lily with teary eyes.
Lily was fed up. She massaged her temples and said expressionlessly, "If you're going to repay the favor, do it all at once."
Then, Lily pulled Michael aside. She poured him a cup of water, slammed it on the table, and stared at him sternly. "Stop causing trouble. I'm very busy."
Michael glanced back at Loid. Loid had already dismissed Yolanda and was on the phone again. Michael sidled up to Lily, smiling, "This guy ain't that bad. He's quite considerate of you. Once you're of age, marry him, alright?"
Hearing that, Lily was speechless.
