Blair's heart skipped a beat. Thinking of John, her good mood quickly faded. She forced a smile. "No. Why do you ask?"
The traffic light turned green. Alexander kept his eyes on the road and replied casually, "I was just wondering."
Blair felt something was off but couldn't quite put her finger on it.
Soon, the car pulled up to campus. She got out and waved goodbye.
Just as she turned to leave, her shoulder bag nearly slipped off. She tightened her grip before closing the door, her eyes flickering with unease.
She wasn't naive. Alexander had mentioned it once during the car ride—and again just moments ago. Blair was certain he knew about the incident with John. It was far from a trivial matter, after all.
From the place he lived to the car he drove—none of it truly belonged to Alexander. His circle of friends was clearly anything but ordinary.
