Amelia Johnson jolted awake from her sleep.
“Had a nightmare?” Damien Taylor asked with concern.
She nodded. “Yeah.”
“What was it about?”
“I dreamed you kidnapped me,” Amelia replied.
Damien chuckled, eyes glinting with mischief. “They say dreams mean the opposite, but that’s a wild one.”
Amelia glanced at the rope in Damien’s hand and shrieked.
“What’s wrong, Amelia?” he asked quickly, clearly alarmed.
She reached out and pinched his face. “Does that hurt?”
He looked confused but still answered, “Yeah, it does.”
She let out a sigh of relief. “Ok, just a bad dream.”
“What kind of nightmare was it?” he asked again.
“I dreamt you kidnapped me, then I woke up… only to realize I was still being kidnapped—it was one of those dreams within a dream. Totally freaked me out.” She patted her chest to calm herself.
“Then it’s definitely the opposite,” Damien said.
Amelia eyed him. “You said the same thing in my dream.”
Damien grinned softly. “Don’t worry, we’re home.”
