Chapter 195 Steamy Elevator Kiss
Yvette said coldly, "Tell Mr. Diaz that we'll have the meeting until after the auction ends."
Then, she walked toward me. I was so confused.
I pressed the elevator button to go up and it arrived quickly. I hurried inside and pressed the button to the floor I wanted to go to.
I cast a subtle glance outside and saw Yvette coming closer. I was too slow and couldn't avoid her gaze in time.
We locked eyes, and she said icily, "Owen."
My heart stopped and warning bells started ringing in my mind. I pressed the "close" button in a panic.
Alas, Yvette was faster than the elevator doors. She pressed the button to go up and the doors slid open.
I watched her step into the elevator calmly and felt a sense of fear. I couldn't stop myself from taking a few steps backward until my back was up against the cold wall of the elevator.
I knew she wouldn't hit me, but I couldn't cast away my sense of fear. She looked very displeased and her expression told me I was about to face a storm.
She raised her hand slightly and pressed the "close" button. The elevator doors closed, and she stared at me icily.
She suddenly burst into laughter at the sight of me standing timidly in a corner.
"I asked you to wait for me, but you closed the doors?" she asked.
She was too close to me, and I had the urge to move away. However, she suddenly stepped forward and cut off my path.
I inched left, and she did the same. I dashed to the right, but she blocked my way again.
She was so close that I could feel the warmth of her body, and I was frozen in place in a corner of the elevator.
Pushing her in such an enclosed place would only lead to an accident, so I could only pray that I reached my floor faster.
I glared at her in annoyance and said, "I didn't promise you that I would keep the doors open for you. Don't I have the right to even close a set of elevator doors? It's not like you own this elevator."
Yvette glanced at the logo near the top of the elevator and smirked. "In fact, I do own it because we're in the Jenning Group's office building."
I was tongue-tied. Did she think that she ruled the world just because she was rich? I'm influential too!
We were the only ones in the small elevator. It wasn't gentlemanly to fight women, so I just pressed myself against the wall and glared at her.
"Can't you stand further away from me? This elevator's empty," I said.
She suddenly looked up and leaned even closer to me. My heart raced, and I started to regret it. I shouldn't have provoked her earlier.
She was a competitive person, and I had found myself a new chick before she could win Randall over. It surely annoyed her. Besides, I had told her mother off right in front of her.
Yvette's dark eyes seemed to be able to see through everything. She looked me in the eye and said, "You said you won't play with the same woman twice. Does that mean you want to try out as many women as you can?"
I glanced at the digital screen and saw that the elevator was still climbing upward. I looked back at her, but I couldn't read her expression. Even so, I could sense some displeasure.
I smiled and said sarcastically, "There are so many hot chicks in this world. Is it wrong to be curious? I can't give up on them over one woman…"
She kissed me before I could finish my sentence. We were standing very close, and she kissed me when I looked down while I was talking.
My heart nearly stopped beating, and I felt dazed. Yvette Jenning! Why had she suddenly kissed me?
Besides, she seemed a little out of control because she even bit me while we kissed. My heart started racing, but it wasn't because I was excited. I was furious.
I felt as if Yvette was disrespecting me. Did she think that I was still the same husband who would let her bully me and kiss me whenever she wanted?
Did she even understand what a divorce was?
I was just about to push her away when the elevator doors opened. I looked up and saw a bunch of people outside gaping at us.
They were stunned and someone even said, "Oh my gosh!"
I had never felt so embarrassed in my entire life and my face was as red as a tomato. I trembled from the embarrassment and wished that I had laser eyes that could shoot Yvette down. I tried my best to get away from her.
Didn't she have any social awareness? How could she kiss me with so many people watching?
Hadn't she always put her dignity first? Wasn't she the one who always yapped about protecting the Jenning family's reputation?
And yet, she was the one being out of line right now.
Yvette seemed to realize something and opened her eyes. She pulled away from me a little and looked at me with a fiery gaze as if she wanted to bore holes into my face.
Then, she glanced behind her casually and pressed the "close" button. Nobody inside or outside the elevator made a sound.
My breath raced. The moment the doors shut completely, I scolded angrily, "Yvette, what the fuck are you…"
She grabbed me by the collar and kissed me again. This time, it was deeper and steamier. I felt like I was being eaten alive, and she was trying to test how I would react.
It lasted until we reached our floor and the doors opened again. People outside stared at us in shock, and I could still hear my own heavy breathing.
Finally, Yvette seemed to awaken from her trance. She stared at me and let go of my collar. I hurried out of the elevator angrily without looking back.
She chased after me with a gentle expression and a slight smile.
She grabbed my arm and said softly, "Owen, I'm enough to keep your hands full. I think you'd be exhausted if you had too many other women…"
