Chapter 11 - Dealing with Emily

Victoria Walked into her husband's room, a mixture of worry and anger written all over her face. "Honey, we need to talk like right now." Mr Johnson who was busy getting ready for the day, spared her a few of his time. "I'm all ears, sweetie; what do you want to talk about?" "I think you were so unfair to Emilia during the family's breakfast." She said taking a seat on the bed. This made Mr Johnson raise an eyebrow. "Unfair? Hmmm, explain Victoria." "You kept questioning her relationship with Alexander. Making it seem like she had ulterior intentions or something." "Does she ?" He asked facing her fully. "They are just friends." She quickly replied. Mr Johnson chuckled."You're a woman, Victoria; I believe you should understand this better than me." "So now she thinks she wants to seduce Alex?" She asked with narrowed eyes. Mr Johnson sighed. "I want to protect my family Victoria." "Protect the family or protect Emily?" She asked her hands on her hips. His expression turned stern. "I love both of my daughters equally, it doesn't mean I won't scold them when it's needed." "Well, that's a lie. Protect Emily, and I'll protect my own daughter," and with that, Victoria walked away. Mr Johnson sighed. He knew the relationship with Emily and her steps were barely hanging by a thread. Emily was an accommodating person, and it was because she didn't want him to be alone and live the rest of his life without a companion; that was the reason she agreed to his idea of getting married again. And for the years, he was quick to notice, Emily and Emilia were different. Emily was a simple girl, but Emilia was more outgoing and confident. And from what was displayed at breakfast, Emilia had the power to ruin Emily's marriage. "Well, time to move out." He said as he continued getting ready for work, his mind still preoccupied with the conversation he had with Victoria earlier. He headed downstairs, where his driver was waiting for him. "Good morning, sir," the driver said, opening the car door for Mr. Johnson. "Good morning, Derek. You have a wonderful night yeah?" "I did Sir. Thanks for your asking. Yours?" "Splendid." He replied and got into the car. As soon as the driver closed the door behind him, Mr. Johnson pulled out his phone and dialed a number. The person on the other end picked up immediately. "Yes, sir?" a deep voice said. "Find the man who gave her daughter, Emilia, that necklace," Mr. Johnson said, his voice firm. "Yes, sir. I'll get right on it," the voice replied. Mr. Johnson's eyes narrowed. "I want to know everything about him. Who he is, what he does, and why he gave Emilia that necklace." "I'll find out, sir," the voice said. His expression turned serious. "I don't pay you to make promises, I pay you to get results. I want answers, and I want them now." "Yes, sir. I understand," the voice said, a hint of nervousness creeping in. Mr. Johnson ended the call and leaned back in his seat, his mind racing with possibilities. *** Victoria walked into Emilia's room, only to find her daughter in a state of rage. Emilia was throwing clothes and shoes around the room, her face red with anger. "Emilia," she called out. As soon as Emilia saw her mother entering the room, she stopped what she was doing and glared at Victoria. Victoria locked the door behind her and walked over to Emilia. "What's going on, Emilia? You want to tear your room apart?" Victoria asked, trying to calm her daughter down. Emilia's eyes blazed with anger. "You know exactly what's going on, Mother," she spat. "It's always about Emily, isn't it? Father loves her more, and now she's even stolen Alexander from me." Victoria's expression turned sympathetic. "Emilia, honey, that's not true. Your father loves you just as much as Emily." But Emilia was beyond consolation. "No, he doesn't," she shouted. "If he did, he would have let me marry Alexander, not Emily. I was supposed to be the one marrying Alexander, not her." Victoria tried to reason with Emilia. "Emilia, you were just a teenager when Alexander first met Emily. He fell in love with her, not you." But Emilia was too far gone to listen. "That's not true," she screamed. "Alexander loved me, I know he did. He only married her because of his grandma's wish. And now Emily has taken him away from me, just like she's taken Father's love away from me." "But there are other wealthy guys out there..." "Don't you get it, mum? Alexander is the only man I want, just him." Victoria's heart went out to her daughter. She knew that Emilia had always felt lower than her sister when it came to their father's love, and now it seemed like she had lost the one person she thought she had a chance with. As Emilia continued to rant and rave, Victoria tried to calm her down, but it seemed like nothing was going to work. Emilia's anger was too deep-seated, and Victoria knew that it was going to take a lot more than just a conversation to fix things. Since it was Alexander her daughter wanted. As a mother, it was her duty to make sure it came true. She wrapped her arms around her daughter's shaking body. "I'll make him yours, my baby," she cooed, trying to calm Emilia's hurt feelings. Emilia looked up at her mother, her eyes red and puffy from crying. "Really, Mum?" she asked, her voice trembling with hope. She smiled and nodded. "Yes, really. I'll do whatever it takes to make sure you're happy, and if that means making Alexander yours, then so be it." Emilia's face lit up with a glimmer of hope, and she threw her arms around her mother's neck. "Thank you, Mum," she whispered, her tears starting to dry. Victoria held Emilia close, stroking her hair and trying to calm her down. "Now, stop crying and go have a bath. I'll call the maids to arrange your room and make sure everything is perfect for you." Emilia nodded, still sniffling, and pulled back from her mother's embrace. "Thanks, Mum. You're the best," she said, her voice filled with gratitude. Victoria smiled and kissed Emilia's forehead. "I'll always do what's best for you, baby. Now go and have your bath and get ready, and we'll start making plans to get Alexander's attention." Victoria walked over to the phone and dialed a number, waiting for the person on the other end to pick up. "Hello?" a deep voice answered. "Meet me at 12 at the spot ," Victoria said in a commanding tone. "What's this about?" the voice asked. "I have a job for you, and I need to discuss the details with you in person," Victoria replied. The voice on the other end paused for a moment before responding. "Sounds good. I'll be there," the voice said. Victoria hung up the phone and walked over to the window, looking out at the city below. She had a plan, a plan to get rid of her.
