Chapter 112 The Evil Empress Was Born
The pig face fell down to the ground with his hands covering his eyes as blood flowed out of that injured left eye. He would surely lose his sight. He rolled on the ground cursing her and saying that he would kill her.
People were shocked. His friends didn’t know what they should do. The procuress was forced to come out and settle things down, freaked out. The man was the son of a big name. This could be the end of her brothel. The procuress and her thugs cornered Shui Yinzhu. They would catch this delinquent and bring her to the man’s family as an apology. They couldn’t afford to let her run away.
Shui Yinzhu had to hold down her fear. This was the first time for her to face such a dangerous situation. The girl forced herself to calm down and showed the demeanor of a princess. No longer the weak girl she used to be, she pulled out the pearl hairpin on her hair and held it in her hand as if Kong Yue was still with her, bringing her courage. As the long beautiful hair was let down, she looked breathtaking at the moment.
The procuress wouldn’t care if Shui Yinzhu was beautiful or not. But that aura did surprise her. This young girl felt more mature than she looked. The procuress realized she was more than just a young girl.
Shui Yinzhu didn’t even spare her eye on the pig face. She spoke to the procuress, “Madam, I am the third princess of the empire coming out to travel.”
“The Third Princess?” The procuress was much experienced with people. She looked into Shui Yinzhu’s eyes but found no fear at all.
“If you don’t believe me, send your men to the hotel in the east and inquire about their customer in the No.1 Suite.” As the procuress grew uncertain, Shui Yinzhu added, “I’ll stay here and wait for my guards to come.”
This was a war of nerves. Shui Yinzhu needed Xuan Zhi to know that she was caught in trouble. As long as the word went out, Xuan Zhi and his men would come to save her. All she needed to do would be to play the Third Princess and let the procuress’s guard down.
The procuress had very much bought her story. The girl in front of her would be about the age of 15 or 16 at the most, who was not supposed to be that scheming. However, Shui Yinzhu’s tricks outgrew her age. Maybe she didn’t live as long as the procuress yet, but she had surely experienced something far tougher.
Shui Yinzhu forced herself to keep eye contact with the procuress. Even though she wasn’t the third princess of the empire, she used to own the title of princess in the Kingdom of Shui. She still got to keep the charisma and the manner of a princess. Moreover, life and death had taught her to be tougher than normal people.
Her calmness saved her. As Xuan Zhi learned about her trouble in the brothel, he sent people to take the brothel pimp to the government office. As soon as the pimp left, Xuan Zhi led the confidential guards to the brothel. After he saved Shui Yinzhu, they left that town immediately, leaving no trace at all.
Even though it happened a long time before, it was still the first step for that innocent Princess Xi to become the cruel Shui Yinzhu. She was only 16 years old. It was the first time for her to hurt others. As blood covered her hands, her heart was stained, too. Ever since that incident, Xuan Zhi never allowed Shui Yinzhu to go anywhere alone.
For three years, Shui Yinzhu kept learning dancing and singing during the daytime and observing the practice at brothels, tea houses, and bars at night. In order to have better control over the human mind, she asked the procuresses, whores, singers, and entertainers to teach her. She absorbed all the knowledge she could possibly learn. Gradually, she understood her most charming expression and the most seducing eyesight. That’s how she turned to current Shui Yinzhu.
As the wind blew inside on this autumn night, Shui Yinzhu got out of her bed. She was crueler than before. Her eyes were so determined. The woman ignored the bruises and pain on her body as she jumped out of bed and walked into the bathtub.
The palace maids that had been waiting for her started to clean up her body. Shui Yinzhu closed her eyes and enjoyed their service.
Shui Yinzhu didn’t know if it was because she destroyed the world in her previous life or she committed any evil crimes. God treated her so unfairly that she had to suffer the punishment of hell right after her happiest moments. No, she would have accepted it if it was just her alone. But why did God take away everything she cared about from her? Why did God force her to watch the death of those people close to her over and over again?
Xuan Zhi was the last man she loved in this world. He was the last reason for her to live on and to keep her heart beating. She no longer had her virginity, but she wouldn’t take a single step back. Whether or not she was clean, she would protect him for the rest of her life, even if it would come at the cost of her own life. Shui Yinzhu wanted her revenge. She was willing to give up everything. But first, she had to be strong. She had to be strong enough to protect all that she cared about. As for Yun Su, she wouldn’t just kill him. Death would seem far from being enough. She wanted him to lose everything.
Life had been so unfair to her. Destiny had been generous to her with disasters. God forced her to lose everything. They all kept torturing her and pushing her to her doom so that she had to lose her humanity and see through human nature. There was nothing left for Shui Yinzhu to worry about. She was not God and couldn’t destroy the world. But she could become a monster and put an end to this world. Maybe she would be regarded as the evil outcast, but so what? Shui Yinzhu would fulfill the prophecy about Princess Shui, who would make the Kingdom of Yun decline and the world turn to chaos.
Shui Yinzhu stood up from the bathtub. Water still dripped down from her body. The demonized princess hence had nothing to do with kindness inside this golden cage. What was left in her was the calculative and scheming woman.
And the evil empress was born.
As she put on her red dress, Shui Yinzhu was way more charming than in white. Her eyes appeared to be so fascinating that even the dim candlelight in the midnight could not hide her beauty.
She opened the door and left the Xiyan Palace. The princess walked away from this palace of special meaning to her. Her dress was fluttering in the wind at midnight. She seemed like a succubus coming from hell. No one in the human world had witnessed such beauty. She would bring this world a bloodbath.
Since the fall of leaves on that day, Shui Yinzhu had never stepped into the Xiyan Palace again. She didn’t want to destroy its purity, even though it was no longer stainless. Her memory was just the same. Full of wounds and pains as it was, its only moment of wonder was kept carefully in case it got ruined. Before the end of her revenge, she wouldn’t come to this place again. The phoenix tree was the only remaining purity in her heart. She didn’t want to bring any dirt to the Xiyan Palace that used to be beautiful.
The morning sunlight shone in the empress’ bedchamber. Shui Yinzhu woke up even she hadn’t slept for long enough. There was only charm and ruthlessness in her eyes. The innocence had gone nowhere.
As she got out of bed, palace maids came to get her changed. She put on the red dress and sat beside the vanity table to let the palace maids help her tie a simple bun. Shui Yinzhu spoke with her soft voice, “Someone, notice the elder consorts of the emperor’s father that they have to come to pay me respect every day from now on.”
“Your Majesty, that’s not reasonable. They are your elders,” a palace maid said.
Shui Yinzhu suddenly stood up on her feet, almost causing the two combing maids to hurt her. Everyone kneeled to the ground begging for mercy. The palace maids had not yet learned to fear Shui Yinzhu since this was the first day after she turned evil.
But the eyes of the woman in red only appeared more frigid, freezing the air around her. She grabbed the scissors on the vanity table and stabbed them into the chest of that disobedient palace maid. Blood spurted out of the wound. It all happened in an instant. The palace maid never even imagined she would die before she fell down to the ground.
All the palace maids were freaked out. One of them let out a scream. But as Shui Yinzhu glimpsed her with those cold eyes, she covered her mouth, not making another sound for fear that it would turn herself into another dead body.
On the other side, Shui Yinzhu took up the handkerchief gracefully and wiped the blood on her hand as she turned back to the gorgeous woman. She seemed as if nothing had happened, which made a great contrast to the dead body. As she spoke again, her eyes moved over the palace maids, as sultry as they could be, “Who else has an opinion?”
Her voice was still soft. But none had the courage to speak again. The palace maids shook their heads none-stop.
“Go tell the elder consorts to come to pay respect to me.”
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
“If anyone disobeys the order, tie her up and bring her to me.”
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
“It’s about time to build up some rules in the harem,” Shui Yinzhu said as she looked at her pretty pink fingernails, ignoring the dead palace maid on the ground. Her thin hands picked up the hairpin with two pearls and wore it in her bum. “Leave me alone now. Call me when they are all here.”
“Yes, Your Majesty.” The maids felt pardoned as they dragged the dead body away, cleaned up the floor, and ran out.
Shui Yinzhu was the only one left in the bedchamber. She smiled as she took the scissors she used to kill the palace maid and wiped them clean. Then she opened the window and cut the scissors onto her neck, standing in front of the window. As blood just appeared on her neck, a man in black entered the room from the window, trying to stop Shui Yinzhu from hurting herself.
The man in black was not really peerless, but he was young and handsome. The dark skin, high-bridged nose, and slanted eyes made him neither too macho nor too feminine. He felt like a next-door older brother.
Shui Yinzhu never intended to hurt herself. As the man in black showed up, she threw the scissors away, shut the window, and held him in her arms. The man tried to push her away, but before he could do it, her soft voice rang,
“Don’t push me away. If you do, I’ll hurt myself. And don’t leave. Stand where you are. If you don’t do as I ask, I’ll call you a rapist.”
“You...”
As Shui Yinzhu felt his shock, she was still not letting him go. Instead, she kept talking to him, “What’s your name?” The man in black ignored her and turned his head away to prevent eye contact. Shui Yinzhu, however, used those tender hands to turn his head back and said with a properly tuned charming smile, “I’ll kiss you if you don’t tell me.”
