Chapter 1127
She was certain that Nathaniel and Charles were no longer trying to stop her from regaining her memories this time. Perhaps Charles already knew that she had regained her memories since she disappeared for so long.
After learning the relationship between Charles and her mother, Hesper believed that he would not harm her mother. He might use that type of medicine to make her mother lose her memory, but at the very least, her life would not be in danger.
"I need to examine the component to know the effectiveness of Ranfik's medicine," Hesper said after she pondered for a while. "But I'm sure the process may not go smoothly since they won't hand over the medicine so easily."
Rickard gently clasped Hesper's hand, offering reassurance without uttering a word.
As the hours passed, only a few individuals who shared Keith's concerns came to acquire the medicine, while the majority of those who had shown interest before remained absent. By nightfall, less than a fifth of the prepared medicine had been sold.
The younger members of the group felt disheartened, but Hesper's composed demeanor instilled confidence in them. They had grown accustomed to relying on her ingenuity and firmly believed she would find a way out of their predicament. Seeing their spirits low, Hesper advised them to rest for the night.
"Nathaniel knows me well, but I understand him too," Hesper said as her gaze grew deep. "If his medicine truly had such remarkable effects, he wouldn't have waited until now to seek refuge with Ranfik. Instead, he would have done everything in his power to suppress me and thwart my efforts."
Though she had not yet analyzed the composition of the medicine, Hesper had faith in her instincts.
Rickard nodded subtly and furrowed his brows slightly. Observing his expression, Hesper felt a twinge of nervousness and cleared her throat. "Did I make a mistake in my analysis?"
"Not at all," Rickard reassured her as he touched the black circles under Hesper's eyes. "It's time to rest."
In response, Hesper took a deep breath. The sudden turn of events had pushed them into a perilous situation. A single wrong move could lead to their defeat at the hands of Ranfik or Nathaniel Leafdelle Island offered little margin for error, and a misstep could result in Ranfik expelling them from the island entirely.
"Perhaps tomorrow morning, all those people will come to buy medicine from the Savatiers," Rickard suggested optimistically.
Hesper fought back her exhaustion and managed a faint smile. "That would be wonderful if it happens."
At this point, all they could do was hope for the best.
Returning to their courtyard, Sherese nodded at Rickard before vanishing into the night.
That night was destined to be a sleepless one.

Meanwhile, Ranfik asked with genuine interest as he observed Nathaniel, "Can you tell me more about Hesper's past? What happened between the two of you?"
Nathaniel was speechless.
He did not know why he had the feeling that Ranfik's collaboration was not solely for their current objectives but also driven by a desire to uncover everything about their past. It seemed less like a partnership and more like an intense curiosity about Hesper's history.
It felt somewhat familiar.
Nathaniel's face sank as he contemplated an unlikely possibility.
Could it be that Ranfik had also developed an interest in Hesper?
