After the call, I returned to the bedside with my phone. Felix took my phone from me and tossed it onto the nearby couch. Then, he wrapped an arm around my waist. His hot breath brushed against my cheek and my neck. His slender fingers lightly traced the soft skin at my waist, sending a ticklish sensation through me. I instinctively tried to move away, but he only pulled me closer. "Reegan, do you know it's rude to pause a kiss halfway just to answer some trivial call?" For the past few days, I never left Felix's side. He told me that we were about to have a wedding and consummate our marriage soon. "It's best to get used to intimacy sooner rather than later," he had said. So, every night before bed, we would hug and kiss before saying goodnight. Here in Camden City, my life was far more comfortable than I had imagined. Felix was nothing like the ruthless and violent man the rumors painted him to be. On the contrary, he treated me exceptionally well—and those around him, too.
