When Evan called, I had just gotten off Felix's thigh. My cheeks burned in shame while Felix leaned against the window and stared at my swollen lips with amusement.

Feeling my ears burning, I walked over to another window and picked up the call. My breathing was uneven as I spoke, "Mr. Fields, what's the matter?"

Evan sounded worried. "Ms. Rowland, Mr. Price would like you to meet him in 30 minutes at the same place. If you don't show, he will get engaged to Ms. McKay for real."

I hung my head and let out a low chuckle. I bet Felix heard me too. He'd set his glass of water on the bedside table loudly.

Hearing the noises, Evan immediately asked, "Ms. Rowland, are you with someone else? It's late."

I had always been deferent and obedient to Brandon. It wasn't rare for him to demand my presence on a whim.

After the call, I returned to the bedside with my phone.

Felix took my phone from me and tossed it onto the nearby couch. Then, he wrapped an arm around my waist. His hot breath brushed against my cheek and my neck.

His slender fingers lightly traced the soft skin at my waist, sending a ticklish sensation through me. I instinctively tried to move away, but he only pulled me closer.

"Reegan, do you know it's rude to pause a kiss halfway just to answer some trivial call?"

For the past few days, I never left Felix's side. He told me that we were about to have a wedding and consummate our marriage soon.

"It's best to get used to intimacy sooner rather than later," he had said.

So, every night before bed, we would hug and kiss before saying goodnight.

Before Brandon was engaged, he threw a party for just his bunch of fair-weather friends. Jenna was not in attendance.

After having some drinks, everyone at the party started to lose their grip on reality.

A guy who wouldn't shut up suddenly brought up Reegan.

"Brandon, among all your girlfriends, Reegan is still the prettiest."

The voices slowly died down.

"We have had too much to drink. We're just fooling around, so don't take it personally."

Brandon merely smiled at them. "Now, you've reminded me of Reegan. But is she dead? I haven't heard from her in a long time."

His voice sounded indifferent and rather flippant as though he had just been reminded of Reegan's existence. He spoke as though her death wouldn't even matter to him.

A hush fell across the room. Smiling apologetically, Evan said to Brandon, "Mr. Price, I've messed up. I forgot to inform you that Ms. Rowland told me to return something expensive to you.

"I put her in her place because I thought she was trying to get back with you. I didn't want her to make a scene before you."

Brandon's gaze drifted to Evan. He let out a chuckle. "Evan Fields, you're getting out of line."

Shocked, Evan got up from his seat. "Mr. Price…"

"It is not your place to make decisions for me."

"That's true. I crossed a line," Evan apologized. He was breaking out in a cold sweat.

Brandon lowered his gaze and habitually adjusted the ring on his middle finger. "Call her and tell her to get here in 30 minutes."

Stunned, Evan gasped. "Mr. Price, what is this about?"

"If she fails to make it in time, I will get engaged to Jenna for real tomorrow."
