Chapter 470

Joanne still preferred endorsing her favorite couple together. That was the best use of her time! Queenie couldn't deny it. Even she sensed that her relationship with Joshua was much more passionate than before. Since childhood, she'd never known what happiness was. The warmth that filled her at the thought of her moments with Joshua made her realize it was true happiness. "God, I can tell from the look on your face that you two are getting along perfectly. Look at how flawless your complexion is now—you're practically glowing! It seems your precious Mr. Newman is doing a great job of revitalizing you," Joanne teased. Queenie couldn't stand how she could make things sound so amorous all the time. She picked up her milkshake and grabbed Joanne's hand, pulling her toward Grand Galeria. "Let's go shopping, okay? Enough talking." The two women spent the rest of the day shopping. At night, they went for a stew buffet. Queenie bought various accessories and decorations at the night market. She was starting to see double because there were so many things to pick from when she received a message. "Didn't I ask you to keep in contact with me? We've been apart for the whole day. Aren't you even going to tell me you miss me?" The text was from Joshua. It was so cheesy! She smiled and recorded a video while the owner was getting her change. She sent it to Joshua and said, "Jojo and I are at the night market. It's so lively here; we haven't been here in ages." Joshua and the others were having dinner at The Palm Diner. Wayne settled beside him and glanced at his phone, catching a glimpse of Joanne's face on the screen. It was only a split second, but Wayne immediately saw how happy she looked as she ate some mozzarella sticks. In truth, she'd barely even smiled since moving into his apartment. He didn't know whether it was because she was bored, but all she did was cuddle with Lucky and stare at the scenery while seated on the rocking chair on the balcony. He was busy with a project nowadays, so he usually left the apartment early and returned late. Most of the time, Joanne was already asleep when he got back. They didn't have many opportunities to run into each other. It was like Joanne said—they were just housemates. Joshua noticed Wayne down his drink after seeing Joanne's face in Queenie's video. After replying to Queenie, he put his phone down and said, "You can cut your losses for certain things, Wayne. You're free to stop something if you don't think it can work out." Wayne put his glass down and smiled. "I can't stop, nor do I want to. Do you know how despicable Joanne is?" He looked at Joshua and said something he never would've thought would come out of his mouth. "I've never fallen for anyone, so I don't know what it feels like. That's why I'm not sure whether I'm genuinely into her."
